This collection of essays on the weekly parsha is unique in that it contains wisdom of the ancient sages as well as commentary from modern Torah scholars. It is very well organized and easy to understand. For those with less religious knowledge, the essays thoroughly but briefly explain various concepts, and even contain vowels in the Hebrew passages, which are fully translated. For those with the benefit of a higher level of religious knowledge, there is a wealth of information and thought-provoking commentary. These essays are not very long, so they are not burdensome to fit into a busy life. The style is very conversational, which makes reading the essays like sitting down with an old friend. I highly recommend "Joyous Torah Treasures."
