JrPonics FishGarden - How It Works!

The JrPonics FishGarden is a miniature aquaponics garden where kids can watch frogs, shrimp, snails or fish live, eat and grow below in a natural environment, while growing a couple of plants like basil or mint from the top.

The JrPonics FishGarden easily demonstrates the powerful but natural process of nitrification where plants, pets and bacteria all thrive and do better with one another's help.

JrPonics BubbleGarden - How It Works!

With the new JrPonics BubbleGarden you can learn all about hydroponics by growing plants in a miniature two site, recirculating, shallow water culture system.

The plants are fed a two part hydroponics nutrient formula while air bubbles are delivered directly to the roots in the water.

This creates a highly oxygenated nutrient rich environment that plants can always drink and breathe from.

The JrPonics BubbleGarden makes hydroponics easy!

What a great way for kids AND adults to learn about hydroponics!

Not inhumane at all but instead mimics perfectly a natural environment you'd find these tiny fish in.

I have nothing but praise for this item -- great fun and very educational, the best combination.

We bought this for our 9-yr. old niece. She's really smart - like kind of scary smart. She's curious about everything, so I figured this might be an interesting thing for her. She and I spent the afternoon putting this together, after picking out her fish (a blue Beta that she name Sapphire). It takes a little bit of concentration to get everything hooked up right but we did. When we plugged it all in, the pump didn't seem like it was running as strongly as it should be. After trying a bunch of fixes, I came to the conclusion that the pump was the problem. This was a Saturday, about 5:30 pm. I figured I would call the number and leave a message, and hopefully hear from someone on Monday. But to my surprise, I actually got a human - a live one - on the phone! And was nice! And knowledgeable! And helpful! He promised to send a new pump right away. He was in Florida, we're in Illinois. The new pump was at my niece's house on Tuesday and it now works like a charm. Little Sapphire loves her new home and I love the customer service that we received. Seriously...when does that happen anymore? Thank you!!

This is a phenomenal educational tool that any kid will love. Not only does it teach them, in a fun way, how to care for a pet (if you choose to put a fish or animal in yours) but it introduces them to hydroponics and horticulture. Set up is so simple that my 8 year old did most of the work (which is VERY lite) and she absolutely loves checking up on how everything is doing. It's also sparked a huge interest from her in gardening and the environment.

I can't recommend this highly enough. Just get it. Well worth the price.

This is a really cool product. Everything you need included, just add the pet of your choice. I love watching my fish and my plants are growing strong. Every household with children (or not) should have a JrPonics FishGarden. Very educational and fun. What more can I say but buy one (or two) today!

we bought one of these junior Ponics gardens from online and received it in just a few days. I gotta say that im honestly impressed with the detail and quality that goes into this product. over the years I bought literally every single hydroponics kit for kids that's on the market and have never once been impressed until now. the kit contains everything to get started and is so easy to use.. a kid could do it. What am I talking about? I bought this little garden for me! all in all well worth $40 for a very nice introduction to both aquaponics and hydroponics. Good job Junior Ponics!

Well worth the money spent. For everything you get, it's a clear deal to buy it here. My son loves it too. This might get me to grow more plants in the future. Fast shipping and easy seller! Now if only I would place a northern pike in the tank and watch it grow!

Love this product! Has easy set up and simple to follow instruction booklet filled with tips and information. My 6 year old daughter helped me set it up and has really enjoyed having it. It has also taught both of my kids a lot about plant and animal life and how they coincide. Also love having the fresh herbs around any time of year I highly recommend this to anyone of any age. Very cool addition to our home.

This is too small of a tank for a fish. I had a double tailed male betta to start (wrong choice for this tank because of his long fins) and quickly moved him to a 2.5 gallon aquaponic tank. I grew microgreens, but never grew them as well as just growing them in a small amount of good soil. I replaced my male betta with a female betta for this little tank, thinking because she was smaller and had less length of fins, it would work. She didn't seem too unhappy, but I still couldn't bear the lack of space she had. I tried snails to help with the algae, but was unsuccessful. I had one that lasted almost a month, but the rest died within a week. I have since given up this method of aquafarming. Both of my bettas live happily in separate 6 gallon aquariums with proper filtration and heaters. I give this two stars because it is a great idea and I hope to give aquafarming another chance, just in a different way. Also, I really love my fish and I would not have them if not for this little tank. Excellent customer service. I will say, this might still be a better option than those little cups the pet stores sell bettas in. Just be prepared to realize that your fish should have more.

One more thing, the air pump is too stong for betta. I crimped the hose to slow it down, but I ended up buying an adjustable air pump.

Great for teaching children about aquaponics and starting their own garden. And it's organic! The fish provide natural food for the plants and you can grow them anywhere.
