Product Description
ENGLISH VERSION

Untangling Time has as its protagonist Juan Jacobo Bajarlía, memoirist, poet, prolific essayist, educator and columnist whom Leopoldo Marechal described as a zoologist of the monstrosity.Throughout this eighty minute portrait of Bajarlía, the octogenarian writer focuses on some of his multiple obsessions with detail and candor. In front of Carrasco's camera and in his solitude coexists the fantastic, the occult, the literary vanguards, the memories of Alejandra Pizaik and Marechal, a poographic movie theatre in Buenos Aires, the recollection of his father, jail in the days of Perón, Fijman and H.P. Lovecraft, the formulas of the anti-world, stereo poems and the origins of ultraism; Tristan Tzara and Leopoldo Lugones, Rojas and Huidobro; Undurraga, Borges and Joyce's Ulises. Hopkins from Berkeley once said that Bajarlía's time machines stop being mechanical instruments and become metaphysical dimensions. Untangling Time employs these myriad elements as signposts in a trip through the twentieth century, a century blessed to have the memoirist, Bajarlía, as one of its most sensitive protagonists.
