Lives up to the first series and more., December 7, 2008
This review is from: Jubei-Chan 2 (Complete Boxed Set) (DVD)
I was officially hooked to Jubei-Chan through the second part of the series while clicking through YouTube. It's newer, so it has a better quality of illustration than the first part. It also has better fight scenes, and you can't go wrong with ninja/samurai sword action. The acting is also much better as the actors and actresses are relaxed and more comfortable this time around.
One thing I didn't like was some voice switches. I know this has to happen in many series that go for extended periods like Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin, and Inuyasha. However, I just can't get over how whinny the new guy makes Shiro sound(I prefer Miroku's voice in the twins, but the new Hajime voice is pretty hot).
Not much bad to say. It has awesome themes and great storyline. Way to go Geneon.

Has some of the most awesome sword fights., March 7, 2008
This review is from: Jubei-Chan 2 (Complete Boxed Set) (DVD)
I recommend checking out the first season before buying this. It's sillier, and the fighting sequences are less stellar, but the first season serves as a decent character intro. It's however by no means required to understand what Jubei 2's about.
It's all about action with shows like this, and as far as visuals (artwork/animation) go, this does not disappoint one bit; the final confrontation is simply one of the best animated sequences in action anime history in my opinion.
good production value aside, this show's got likable characters, most of whom receive plenty of development. you will find no 1D villains here who act evil for evil's sake. i actually care for them as much as the main protagonist.
i've seen tons of anime, and this show is one of the more frequently rewatched ones in my possession. to me a show is only worth buying if it has good replay value, and this one is no exception. action fans should definitely enjoy this one.
