Wonderful herone...but Jeff is no hero,
By
This review is from: Jubilee Bride (Brides of Montclair, Book 9) (Hardcover)
As much as I loved Faith, I really wish she had married a better man than Jeff Montrose. I didn't really get the attraction between the two of them. Until the end, I didn't even really think he paid enough attention to her--I didn't see the chemistry. He seemed too involved in his art for anybody to really enter his heart.
Even though I didn't care too much for Jeff, I liked his half-brother Jonathan Montrose who actually does behave like a gentleman. The story foreshadows his marriage to Phoebe MacPherson. Druscilla Montrose is very likable as well. Their daughters are likable as well, but I didn't get to know them well enough. There were too many stories in this one book--I couldn't absorb it all. Perhaps my favorite part in the book is when Garnet finds out Faith has eloped with Jeff, and she struggles because Faith realized her dream, and she didn't. Then she realizes she got her dream when she married Jeremy. It really shows that fate was kinder to her because she didn't get her way. |
