Through a unique blend of ancient and modern scholarly commentaries, the role of Judaism is explored and interpreted in its relation to Jewish identity, equality of the sexes, rites of passage, the Holocaust, homosexuality, vegetarianism, medical procedures, politics, and more. Great Selection-Useful Interpretation,

This book includes a thematic selection of Jewish texts from all of the important sources of Tradition, the bible, the Talmud, and the more recent scholars works. Hertzel provides excellent if brief interpretation. My one gripe is that each selection is not necessarily introduced, but just flows with the book.
