Incredible & Inspiring!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Judds Reunion: Live (Audio CD)
In the younger Judd days, Wynonna was kind of the "Silent' partner with the great voice, and the focus tended to be on Naomi. (Even though, the movie portrayal of Wynonna as a little girl depicted a sarcastic, hilarious little hellion). Now that she's all grown up, Wynonna has come into her own and developed an "intrigue" and "fascination" as incredible as Naomi's, and her voice (always wonderful) has strengthened and become even more powerful. This was the "concert" you never wanted to end. They sang all their best songs, and it's as if they reach out and send love and compassion and hope through their music and through their lives. I am fighting a terminal illness, and I have learned one important thing from the Judds. I remember in the movie when the Judds were starting out and getting rejected by everyone, and they were discouraged, Wynonna said to her mother, "What are the chances of our making it anyway--about a billion to one?" Naomi answered her and said, "Then, we'll be that one!" I never forgot it. When a doctor told me my chances were about a million to one, I remembered Naomi and said, "Then I'll be that one!" These two women have given us all so much in so many ways. I read somewhere that Naomi struggles because she wants to "save" everybody, and she can't. Maybe not, but she can certainly give people the "Hope" and the "Faith" in God to save themselves, and she has done that. God bless these two wonderful women!

If you weren't there live, this is the next best thing!,

It all started back in 1983, country music was going through a revival and The Judds were at the forefront of that transition. They brought a certain glamour to country music with their sparkles and smiles. Not since Elvis had a genre of music been so captivated with an artist. The Judds created their glorious sound until December 8, 1991 when they performed their Farewell Concert. Wynonna soldiered on and became a SUPERSTAR. But Naomi sat back and concentrated on other things, her health, her writing and her motivational speaking tour. But that all changed on December 31, 1999 when The Judds came back together and performed for the first time in 8 years. This two-disc set showcases Judd classics, Wynonna-alona solo classics and new tunes from Miss Wy. With The Judds you get what you see, you get the humor, the spark, the harmony. But more importantly you feel like you are in the Judds living room, or their backyard. The CD is "live" and you won't miss Wynonna's giggle, Naomi's banter...you see their fun, you see their honesty. This is actually their second "live cd" with the first showcasing their 1985 tour. They sounded great back then, but 1999 shows their maturity and Wynonna has never sounded better, whether as a partner or alona-Wynonna. This girl can rock. This CD is for those who wanted to be there that night and couldn't. This is what you missed, but you can fix that with the purchase of this "must" country album.

Awesome CD!,

This review is from: Judds Reunion: Live (Audio CD)
The Judds Reunion: Live is an overall awesome cd. As someone who was at the concert in Phoenix, its sound quality is great, and it makes you feel like you were right there at the concert. It brings back so many memories for those who were at the concert. The songs they selected were great. The Wyld Unknown was an awesome performance and an awesome song to put on the disk. Other great songs are The River of Time, Love Can Build A Bridge, Come Some Rainy Day, and Tuff Enuff, which Wy does did not perform for the rest of the tour. Tuff Enuff is my favorite on the cd as it was SO energetic and just an overall great rendition of a great song. As a long time Judd fan, and BIG music fan--everyone will have a great time listening to this cd.

Millennium Party!,

This review is from: Judds Reunion: Live (Audio CD)
Yet another musical gift from Wynonna with glorious harmonies provided by mama Naomi! For years I've dreamed of hearing that live sound on record and now it's come true. Wynonna's voice is gorgeous and flexible as ever. The songs move from sweet to frivilous to painful to joyful. The old and new songs are all good enough to be hits in today's market because they're so timeless. There's the added bonus of the crowd that it makes you feel like you're in Phoenix partying into the new millennium with the girls. The fan interaction and verbal barbs Wynonna and Naomi throw at one another were also captured reflecting the true nature of the live shows we love so much. Snap this one up as soon as possible. If you have no other Wynonna or Judds records this one is a great start. Happy groovin'!

23 Great Songs on 2 CD's,

This review is from: Judds Reunion: Live (Audio CD)
Had I known back in the 80's that there would be a Judds Reunion CD I could have saved a TON of dough on their CD's...The Reunion CD is like the Greatest Hits Volume 1 and 2 together. I don't think I've even listend to any of my other Judds CD's since I bought this one, so many excellent songs on just two CD's.If you don't have a Judd's collection that this is the one to start with, if you already have a collection, well, it isn't complete without this one!

Millenium Reunion,

This was truly something fans of the Judds were waiting for. Ever since The Judds broke up in 1991, Naomi battling cancer, fans have been hoping for a reunion. Here it is! This is a live, 2 CD set recording, of their New Years Eve concert, bringing us into the year 2000. Miracles do happen this proves! Naomi successfully beat cancer, and it is evident that the magic of the Judds is still alive today. The energy between Naomi and her daughter Wynonna is like lightning! The concert begins with daugher Ashley Judd introducing Naomi & Wy to the crowd. Then its a powerful rendition of their heartfelt hit single "Love Can Build A Bridge". Fans will no doubt be impressed, as they sing major Judds hits such as "Girls Night Out", "River Of Time", "Mama He's Crazy", even their first single "Had A Dream ( For The Heart)"! As well this concert celebrates Wynonna's successful transition from Judds member to solo artist. Wynonna is truly a class act, she has always marched to the beat of her own drum and done country with her own flair and personality. Highlights among her hits include "She Is His Only Need", "I Saw The Light", "My Strongest Weakness", and more. She also debuts a new single from her NEW DAY DAWNING album "Can't Nobody Love You (Like I Do)", as well as another song which appeared on the album titled "Tuff Enuff". Perhaps one of the most heartfelt performances is "Come Some Rainy Day", a song Wynonna tearfully and emotionally dedicates to her sister Ashley. Overall this is a must have collection for fans of the Judds, whether or not you were there to seem them on the reunion tour, or even if you were, this will provide memories for years to come of what was one of the most successful female country duos of our time.

1999. Fears of the world coming to an end, among many of the issues at hand at this time. In 1999 we saw many miracles, but none like this. In 1999, Wynonna Judd and Naomi Judd reunited and went on tour. They hadn't performed since December 1991 when they called it quits when Naomi was quite sick, afterwards Wynonna started a successful solo career, and Naomi writing books and doing motivational speaking. This cd is from their New Years Eve concert in Phoenix, Arizona. All of the hits are on here. My favorite song is "River of Time", it has to be one of the most poignant and beautiful songs they have sang, and they bring so much life into the performance on this disc. Other hits include "Love Can Build A Bridge", "Love Is Alive" (another great one Live), "Girls Night Out", "Mama He's Crazy", "Grandpa", "Why Not Me" and more. As well they take time to acknowledge Wynonna's successful solo career, singing songs like "She Is His Only Need", "I Saw The Light", "Come Some Rainy Day" (dedicated to sister Ashley), "The Wyld Unknown" and a few new tracks (at that time) such as "Can't Nobody Love You (Like I Do)" and "Tuff Enuff" from her NEW DAY DAWNING CD. The beauty of the cd comes in the love you feel between Naomi, Ashley and Wynonna, and the love they give to their fans and the appreciation they have for them. They mention it several times. Naomi and Wynonna also give insight and advice for the new millenium, and also show their very big sense of humor, making this not only a entertaining show through the music, but entertaining through listening to these two. Naomi remarked in the concert that a lot of people were staying home for New Years, and that she and Wy were at home, on stage, with their family and friends. That's so touching. The concert is done in a way where on certain songs they chronicle their career, like on "She Is His Only Need" Naomi reminds us it was Wynonna's first #1, her first single. After singing, Wynonna thanks the fans for making it #1. On "Can't Nobody Love You", Wynonna afterwards tells us it's her new single, a nice touch. On "Had A Dream (For The Heart)" they remind us it was their first single. It's a nice retrospective of their wonderful career. "Come Some Rainy Day" Wynonna lovingly dedicates it to sister Ashley. Overall, this is a wonderful cd, and all these wonderful things make it a must have for admirers/fans of The Judds. Even if you weren't at the concert physically, this concert is inviting and makes you feel as though you are in the audience at the concert. They are so talented and their music will stand the test of time.

I flew to Phoenix on New Year's Eve to see this concert. It was wonderful! Wynonna has only gotten better. Naomi sings with Wy on some of the songs and their voices are refreshing. If you like the Judds, you'll love this!

The Judds ended their reign as one of the top vocal groups in country music in their final concert in December 1991, when Naomi was very ill, a fatal disease. She spended time writing books and doing motivational speaking, while Wynonna went on to become a very successful solo artist. For the New Years Eve concert, the last of the millenium, and entering a new one, The Judds reunited one last time for a final tour. Here it is for all the fans to enjoy!Singing their signature hits like "Mama He's Crazy", "Girls Night Out", "Grandpa (Tell Me About The Old Days", "Why Not Me", "Love Can Build A Bridge", "Love Is Alive" and many many more, as well as some of Wy's solo hits like "I Saw The Light", "She Is His Only Need", "My Strongest Weakness", "The Wyld Unknown", as well as some new songs from her album NEW DAY DAWNING like "Can't Nobody Love You Like I Do", "Tuff Enough" and her hit "Come Some Rainy Day" This is the perfect collection of songs old and new for fans of the Judds. It is excellent and there is so much talent. Ashley Judd introduces them. This is a must have for any fan who loves the Judds and wants to recapture that magic that lived on throughout the 80's and early 90's. Its wonderful to hear from these talented singers again!

This Live album blew my mind!,

How many Judd fans out there have always waited for a live album by Wynonna and Naomi? Well, it's finally here and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! I listened to the whole album and it is very well put together and presented. Ashley Judd introduces Wy and Naomi on stage and the party takes off from there. Some live albums sound "muffled" as performers get drowned out by the audience feedback after or during a song but the clarity to this recording is fabulous and there is a good mix of Judd songs and Wynonna solos. The Judds REALLY party on this live album. They joke around alot and have fun with the songs they sing. I didn't go to the Judd reunion tour only because I was so busy but listening to this live album sure makes me feel like I should have been there. This is a purchase you will be very happy with.
