For over twenty years, Jewelle St. James painstakingly delved into past life flashbacks, combing historical and genealogical records for vital clues to her startling visions and emotional reactions. In her first book, All You Need Is Love, Jewelle chronicled her 17th century past life connection as Catherine with the soul of John Baron in Petworth, England.

In 2001, this soul, which incarnated as John Lennon, warned Jewelle that he had a disturbing message for her--but didn't know if she'd be able to handle it. Suddenly, John Baron delivered an unusual poem that came forth via automatic writing. The writing came so fast that Jewelle didn't have time to read the sentences until it was completed.

This melodic poem conveyed a horrifying story both foreign and familiar--a tale about a Jewish German woman named Katarina and the guard who loved her so much that he shot her to death.

In her newest book Jude: My Reincarnation from Auschwitz, Jewelle details her investigation into the channeled poem, as well as her childhood obsession with the Holocaust. Although not Jewish in this life, Jewelle felt a strange connection between the prisoners of the German and Polish death camps in the 1940's, as well as Jewish people. In fact, when she once overheard a waitress mutter the words "Dirty Jew", Jewelle felt ashamed and ill--as if the words were aimed directly at her.

Riveting and redemptive, Jude chronicles Jewelle's journey to Krakow, Poland as well as her conversations with Holocaust survivors and those who lived in WWII Germany. As in her first book, Jewelle also explores fascinating synchronicities between her current life and her past life. For example, her own name contains an uncanny connection, as does the fact that she was born on February 12th (the same date the first Germans were transported to Poland) and was born at 2:41--the exact time WWII had ended.

What I found especially compelling was that Jewelle theorizes that many other baby boomers may be reincarnated survivors of the Holocaust--using this lifetime to heal the traumas experienced during that time. Equally intriguing is her theory that many children of baby boomers may be injured spirits from the Vietnam War.

On a personal note, I've always felt extremely emotional about Vietnam vets--often getting tearful when anything about them is mentioned. It's a rather odd reaction, especially since I wasn't old enough to know if its impact even though my Dad was almost sent there when I was a toddler. If Jewelle is right, that could explain my unusual response to that war, especially the returning survivors that were mistreated by American citizen and the many that still languish among the homeless and destitute to this day.

Absorbing and sobering, Jude: My Reincarnation from Auschwitz not only conveys how past-life echoes clamor for recognition through dreams and impressions, but also explains why many baby boomers find the Holocaust so familiar. If past-life exploration intrigues you or you feel a connection to this historical time, I highly recommend Jude by Jewelle St. James.

With six millon Jews murdered in the Holocaust, I always wondered how many people alive today had memories of that time period...even though there was no way they were alive at that time. I am a true believer in the theory of reincarnation and I know I am not alone. Author Jewelle St. James shares her reincarnated Holocaust memories in her latest book, Jude. Having memories since the age of ten, Jewelle tried to repress many of them she had of that life time....due to fear and shame. As Jewelle grew older and explored other past lives, the Holocaust memories kept showing themselves and she finally decided it was time to explore this lifetime. With the help of psychics, regressionists, and the use of Automatic Writing, Jewelle finally pieced some of the puzzle together. She was a young woman named Katerina and her family was involved in the underground resistance movement against the Natzi's. Her father ran an underground printing press that offered people help in the resistance. He was eventually caught and taken away by the Natzi's....Katerina later met the same fate. Sent to Auschwitz, she later died a tragic death. Yet in this lifetime, Jewelle was able to recognize key players in her present life as ones in her past life.

I feel Jewelle has been able to come full circle. She recogized many people from both lives, found out why she has settled in the same habits, and found ways to make peace with her memories of the past. The book is very well written and you feel like you are with her on her journey. I could not put this book down and had it read in a day. Once again, Jewelle has shown me that past lives are indeed possible.

Jewelle gives voice to many feelings people like me have had without being able to name them.
She also validates that horrible reality of the death camps, and the memories that many people -like myself- have struggled with, with the feeling of being "strange" to the rest of humanity who didn't seem to have them.

Jewelle's book is one of an increasing number in the interesting field of past life memories. However, most of the books I'd read before hers were written by psychologists, spiritual leaders and so on. It's unusual to find something written in the first person, a true story about an individual's own journey to make sense of what can be a very confusing experience. "Jude" is highly readable and is written from the heart, allowing one to take the journey together with Jewelle, and discover what she discovers. The narrative is crisp and vivid. One of the things that intrigued me was finding out that Jewelle was born in a "caul" - a rare phenomenon, which traditionally shows that the baby is a psychic soul. In her case, that's definitely true, at least regarding her own past lives. A first-class read.

If you, like me, have struggled with memories of the death camps, memories of the horror that was Nazi Germany, start with Rabbi Gershom's "Beyond the Ashes" Beyond the Ashes: Cases of Reincarnation from the Holocaust. Then, spend some time with Jewelle St. James' "Jude". These are beginning points for your healing. Then, find yourself a good past life regressionist and go to work. Healing from a life that ended in the death camps is not easy, but living with the unresolved aftermath is worse. While I, myself, have done past life regressions for years, I seek help in dealing with my own memories and experiences from that time.

This is a book which must be read. It is thoroughly readable, gripping and totally informative regarding an individual who remembers her previous life as a young Jewish girl who died at the hands of a Nazi during the Holocaust. For any who have an interest in reincarnation, this is a book to be read, especially if, like many, the reader has any feeling of being a victim (or indeed perpetrator) during WWII and has returned during the 'baby boom' years.

An excellent author - I am looking forward to reading her other books of past life memories.
