4.0 out of 5 stars A Flawed "Must Read", May 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Judgement Day 2000 (Paperback)
Although I would have liked to give this book 5 stars, I cannot. While the message is timely and you need to know about it, there is a glaring flaw throughout the book. Somebody sure dropped the ball on proofreading the text before printing it. I suppose because of their apparent haste to get the book out as soon as possible. It's an important message that needs to be disseminated. But I found it rather irritating reading sentences with words and phrases repeated back to back. Also, the author would quote and/or refer to some person and their job title over and over and over within the same chapter. The job title is necessary only once when the person is first mentioned. Thereafter, only the name is needed. Still, if you don't mind wading through poorly proofread material, then I highly recommend getting this book. As I said, the message is timely - and you need to know what's coming. The author is a man of integrity and he "knows his stuff". I have not yet read a more thoroughly researched book on the topic of Y2K and its after effects. Purchase the book and read it. You'll be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than a y2k book..looks at other national issues, March 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Judgement Day 2000 (Paperback)
Blackouts, closed banks, silent telecommunication systems, public transportation clogs, food shortages, rising violence, curfews-are we ready for the year 2000 as computers crash all over the nation? Is this coming disaster God's judgment on a world that has turned its back on Him? In this book Richard Wiles effectively portrays just what could happen at 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2000.

Richard Wiles has compiled the predicted disasters that will result from the "two missing digits" in computer programs: global economy crashes, insurance crises, agriculture failures, military coups, and other crises. Judgment Day 2000 warns readers of such impending catastrophes. There isn't much time left. God's people need to understand what could and will happen. No one will escape the ramifications of what is about to happen, but individuals and families can be prepared. This book explains what some of those ramifications will be in a person's everyday, practical life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, well researched and divinely inspired, December 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Judgement Day 2000 (Paperback)
Judgment Day 2000 is a superb book. It is informative, thought provoking, and very enlighting.

The book did a great job of analyzing the coming Y2k - Millennium Bug event and other key economic and social concerns for the coming year.

The author, Richard Wiles, did a very commendable job of extrapolating the many potential events we could face with well researched material.

Some of us feel the Lord's judgement is about to fall on America for our way of life, our lack of values and morals. The final three chapters do an excellent job of putting these times in perspective; what we are about to face in our country and how we can prepare personally and spiritually.

Judgment Day 2000 says the times ahead will be tough, challenging and very trying, but only through our faith in our Lord will we be able to handle such difficult times.

A must read for those who are sensing something unique about these times but can't quite put a handle on the reason.

We have two choices; plan and prepare or go about our ways totally unprepared and face the consequences.
