3.0 out of 5 stars It was great until I got to the part.....
This book was well written and very interesting until I got to the part when Hunt's anti-Catholicism started coming through. He has such a hang up on the Catholic Church that he isn't even able to prevent himself from bashing it when he's writing about Islam. The problem isn't so much that he hates Catholicism but that given his misunderstanding and misinterpretation of...

This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations (Hardcover)
Seldom have I encountered a book that is so well written and which subjects Biblical prophecy and how it relates to currents to such a thorough investigation.

An abundance of distinctive issues are examined in the aforementioned context including Islam, Israel, Jerusalem and the highly volatile situation in the Middle East, together with the ongoing political quest for "peace" by the world's leaders.

From a Christian perspective the book dissects both the Jewish and Palestinian/Arab claim to the territory often referred to as the Holy Land.

At the outset the study declares that only the Bible "..foretells centuries and even thousands of years in advance major events of world history.." and that the numerous relevant prophecies identify the one true God and the Bible as "..His unique revelation to mankind.."

In the context of investigating how Biblical prophecy relates to present day events, the book expounds that Israel is the major topic of Bible prophecy. The study elaborates that the name Israel is mentioned 2,565 times in 2,293 verses while Jerusalem is also found 811 times in 764 verses within the King James translation of the Holy Bible. By way of comparison the book emphasises that Jerusalem is not found even once in the Islamic Koran.

Demonstrating through a plethora of examples, the book proceeds to reveal how prophecies concerning Israel and Jerusalem are precise and beyond misinterpretation, with some of them even warning of God's judgment upon those who would attempt to bring a false, man-made "peace" to the Middle East which defies what God has decreed for His own people within the Hebrew Christian Scriptures.

Such man-made attempts to arrive at a "peace" outside the God of the Bible are examined in some detail, including the so called "Road Map to peace" which is presently being pursued by the nations.

Another timely and relevant issue investigated is the Islamic mindset and it's alleged agenda within the Middle East, most specifically as it relates to Israel and Jerusalem etc.. The book proceeds to summarise the conflict between Islam and Israel by describing how the God of the Bible has purportedly promised to "protect" Israel, while Allah of the Koran/Islam has sworn to "destroy" her.

Jerusalem is shown to be depicted in the Bible as a burdensome stone to the world and that all the nations are destined to be gathered against her in events which culminate in the return of the Jewish/Christian Messiah. Due reference is provided to support these statements.

A central factor radiating through this study is what is cited as the fundamental Biblical truth that, although the Bible contains hundreds of prophecies outlining how God would severely punish Israel for her sins, He would preserve a remnant and bring the scattered Jews back into their own land in the latter days. Innumerable contextual Scriptural references being provided to reinforce this.

Another pivotal emphasis in the text is that Israel has been the only united, sovereign, nation-state that has ever existed in the geographical entity that has been sometimes called "Palestine". The Hebrew Christian God is cited herein as being called the "God of Israel" on 203 occasions in the Holy Bible.

The reader is also confronted with how the Koran contradicts the Holy Bible on this and virtually every major point, including denying the deity of Jesus Christ, His death upon the cross for our sins and also His resurrection.

These points are illustrated while addressing how the God of the Bible and that of the Koran are cited as definitely not being the same Person, despite what some prominent political figures have declared. The book also demonstrating how some professing Christians are allegedly prepared to trample on truth in their eagerness to purportedly placate Muslims.

Mention is also made as to how the United Nations has spent one third of it's time either deliberating or denouncing Israel and it's relationship to Jerusalem, with more than six thousand individual votes having been cast in the UN against the Jewish state.

Reference is made to statements emanating from many elements within the Arab/Islamic world which reveal that the struggle with what is called the "Zionist enemy", is allegedly not about Israel's borders, but about the very existence of Israel itself.

These and many parallel issues are shown from the text to be ignored by international leaders as they seek to establish a man-made "peace" in the Middle East.

Sections of the book explore an abundance of issues such as the history of the Jewish people and the secular/political/military history of the Middle East and the Holy Land itself.

Other important, pivotal subjects investigated are the origins of the Arabs who call themselves "Palestinians", the "Palestinian" refugee situation and the history of Islam.

The implications of all these issues in relation to current & future events make for a fascinated and gripping read. (Page 78; One notable reference provided here is that the UN definition of anyone qualifying as a "Palestinian" is any Arab who lived in what was "Palestine" for two years prior to the rebirth of Israel in 1948).

The research employed in presenting this study can only be described as impeccable. The individual reader may not agree with the author in relation to all the issues discussed, but the message of this easily readable book desperately needs to be heard.

I would heartily recommend two other books pertaining to the issues covered here;-

"Jerusalem Countdown" by John Hagee.
"Why I Left Jihad; The Root of Terrorism and the Return of Radical Islam" by Walid Shoebat.

5.0 out of 5 stars An "as-you-live" thriller, September 17, 2005
This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations (Hardcover)
Have you been confused about the endless turmoil in the Middle-East? Are you unaware of Islam and wonder what the Koran says? Are you clueless about Biblical prophecy regarding the "end of the age" and what lies just ahead? Are you baffled as to why young Muslins are murdering innocent people by voluntarily blowing themselves up? Are you unprepared for who and what is coming? In a rather easy-to-read but factually documented presentation, Dave Hunt clears the fog. Hold on - when the fog lifts, you may be shocked by what you see. Better to see it now.
Note - this is not just a "bad news", scare your pants off, kind of tirade. This book will also tell you the "good news".

5.0 out of 5 stars Commander Roger Johnson, August 23, 2005

This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations (Hardcover)
The world is marching toward something very big. Europe is rebuilding to look like the Old Roman Empire of Christ's time. The Middle East, and specifically Israel, is on every newscaster's tongue. The nations are perplexed and frustrated over a "postage stamp" sized country that stands with a defiant fist held in the faces of 22 Muslim nations. Natural disasters are becomming more destructive of human life and property, and with increased frequency. Where are we marching? If you have no knowledge of what the Bible says about this very time in which we are living, then it's high time you learn. Dave Hunt's book will give you both the historic and Biblical explanation. More important, it will tell you in easy-to-understand words what you must do to prepare yourself to meet your Maker. The Lord Jesus Christ gave Himself on the cross in your place. He only asks that you turn from everything else that you have trusted in to get you to heaven and acknowledge what He did for you. Come down off your own cross of self-righteousness. God does not give any value to the little things you do to earn His acceptance. He has decreed that there is only one way to heaven. Jesus has already paid your sin debt in full. But, if you choose to turn your back on Him and remain on your own cross, then you have no hope. A great book. Buy it! Read it! Heed its warnings!

5.0 out of 5 stars HERE IS THE CURRENT PROPHETIC SCENARIO WELL DEFINED..., November 13, 2005
By
This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations (Hardcover)
Dave Hunt has been teaching for years about the issues of
Biblical prophecy and apostasy in the backslidden churches. Now
comes his newest work regarding much DOCUMENTED TRUTH and Biblical
truth that shows irrefutably just how much the nations have
betrayed Israel and her Covenant with THE GOD of Israel: The
Covenant with The Land, AND The Covenant regarding the promised
restored Davidic/Messianic Kingdom. If you want a factual and
very sound overview of *what is REALLY happening* in the highly
volatile and prophetically significant Middle East: read this
book. Get a copy to your pastor or to a friend. Better yet: send
a copy to your favorite journalist. Everybody needs to know
just how sinister is the conscious (and subconscious) plot to
destroy Israel and repudiate their Covenant with The GOD
{Yahweh-YaHOVaH} of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. GOD is getting
ready to unleash His fury upon the nations. Be ready. and be
VERY SURE you are standing on the right side of THIS issue.
Be very VERY sure.
Len Hummel, missionary/pastor.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Unpopular Truth, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations (Hardcover)
Mr. Hunt is right about how the UN, EU, Islam, and the US (at times) has been anti-Israel. He mentions on pages 261-64 that the only real friends Israel has are the CHristians (not Catholics). The truth is told that Islam is not peaceful. Saudi Arabia's hypocrisy is shown by their approving of Article 18 of the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights that guarantees every one the right to choose his or her's religion and to practice it. Our "ally" does not allow any one who is not a Muslim to practice his religion publicly. They also kill any Muslim to changes religions. On page 281, the shaheed (the one who kills others in his suicide) has his family taken care of by the Saudia Arabian government and is honored in the afterlife. Mr. Hunt does point out in pp. 288-91 that the elder Muslim religious leaders are encouraging all the Muslim boys to be suicide bombers but are not being one themselves. In chapter 5, the truth about the Palestinians are told. They are just Muslims (banned by their "brothers in Allah" nations) being abused by other Muslims to get more land from Israel. The US government knew about the extermination of JEws before we entered WWII but did nothing. We had a naval ship in the Middle East broadcasting Israeli defense plans to the Muslim nations attacking Israel during the 6-Day War. ISrael was right to sink our ship! The reason why all the nations are anti-Israel is because--she is God's chosen people! The Jews are one proof that the Bible is true. People who befriend them are blessed. People who hate them have trouble. They came back to some of the land that is theirs (1948 but the nations want to give it all back to Muslims).

As usual, Dave Hunt has painstakingly and accurately researched for this book. It is not just heresay or personal opinions that make up the content of "Judgement Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations", but pure FACT - with complete references provided at the end of each chapter.

A majority of the world is in denial and in a state of delusion, but the day is coming very soon when most people will hang their heads in shame and tremble with fear after foolishly shaking their fists at God and rejecting the truth.

If you want to know what's really going on in this sick, sad world, a good place to start would be by reading this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive But Readable, August 19, 2006

This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations (Hardcover)
If I had to recommend one book that best explains today's current events, I wholeheartedly endorse Dave Hunt's book, "Judgment Day." I haven't agreed 100 percent with Mr. Hunt over the years and sometimes his writings are tough to understand.

This time I am very impressed. His writing is clear and concise and he provides irrefutable references for his assertions. What is especially strong is the array of issues that Hunt weaves into a cohesive theme that proves God is very angry with the world for their mistreatment of the Jews. Soon He will return not as a suffering savior as He did nearly 2,000 years ago but as a conquering King to rescue the Jews from those who have sought their extermination.

Hunt addresses the rise of Islam and the complete absurdity of the political correctness that proclaims Islam is a religion of peace. The media and the U.N. refuse to acknowledge that the Palestinian people didn't exist until 50 years ago and that they are pawns to exploit by their fellow Muslims. The world also forgets history that the Jews were given far more land after World War I than the currently have. Hunt makes the case that the land is no longer the issue: If the Jews had one square mile in the Middle East, Islam would want it and see the Jews pushed into the Mediterrean.

Most damning to Islam is that Hunt clearly shows how true Islam is violent and that Muhammad himself spread his religion by the sword. Hunt demonstrates how poorly Islam treats their women and children. (Where are the National Organization of Women and Hillary Clinton in ever denouncing Islam for this?)

Two excellent chapters are worth describing. Chapter 9 describes the parallel between Nazi Germany with Czechsolovakia (1938) and the PLO (today) in painting public opinion and twisting the true story about their land grabbing. The media conveniently ignores history's lessons about Hitler. Both Hitler and Arafat were empowered by demons with a lust for killing Jews.

The other notable chapter is Chapter 12 which describes how most of today's churches are very anti-Israel, even if they don't recognize it. This view called "Replacement Theology" ignores numerous biblical passages that proclaim God is not done with the Jewish people. Israel has been back in her land since 1948 for a very specific reason: God's timeline is being set for the return of Jesus Christ to rescue a remnant of the Jews at the Battle of Armageddon. Too many churches ignore Romans Chapter 11 that the New Testament church is a wild branch grafted into the natural branch (Israel) of the olive tree. Gentiles are far too arrogant in self-importance and thinking that Israel has been disinherited from God's blessings. We have forgotten our Jewish roots and God is far from being done with Israel... her very existence as a nation today is the largest sign for this generation to know that Jesus' return is soon to occur.

Lest anyone say that Dave Hunt does not love the Muslim, that is simply not true. At the end of the book, he clearly and lovingly presents the gospel to the Muslim that the God of the bible is not Allah. He shows that God's son died to redeem all who claim His shed blood as the payment for our sins. That is the positive message from Judgment Day.

This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel and the Nations (Hardcover)
Because this book is based on the bible, it will also generate controversy. You can expect to see the negative reviews, but this book really puts the middle east conflict into perspective. I was like so many other Americans that asked the question after 9/11, "why do they hate us?" As a Christian, this book is very convicting. Shame on me for ignoring the plight of other people just because they were in another geographic location. I've read the more political books on this subject like, American Jihad by Steve Emerson and Why they Hate Us by Bridgette Gabriel. Bridgette's book started to touch on the spiritual topics, but Dave nailed it. Every American and non-muslim should read this book so they can be prepared for the Trojan Horse entering your country. Per Dave's comment, "If Islam puts down their weapons, there will be no more war. If Israel puts down their weapons, there will be no more Israel."

This book is WELL documented and indexed. If you don't believe what's written, there are MANY other sources to consult and verify. It does a great job in allowing the non-muslim to discern words not in line with actions.

Buy it, read it, and secure the future for yourself and family.
