Urgent Exhortation for Understanding Middle East Biblically,
By Encompassed Runner (Florida, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Judgment Day! Islam, Israel, and the Nations, Second Edition (Hardcover)
Dave Hunt stridently proclaims the significance of Middle East events in light of Bible prophecies that are many not few, specific not vague. He confronts the hypocrisy of Christians, Jews, and political leaders who claim to believe the Bible but act contrary to its warnings regarding policy about Israel. Both Islam and the nations (including U.S.) are indicted for pushing the division of God's land. Likewise, for yielding to these schemes of men, Israel herself is shown to be in suicidal rebellion to scripture, to her peril--2/3 will die. Even Christendom (evangelicals too, not just Catholicism) is guilty because of its anti-semitic, unbiblical "replacement theology"-based actions (ex., divestment) and teaching that Israel has been cut off by God and that instead the Church, not Israel, has inherited the promised blessings. 'Judgment Day' addresses antisemitism and its forms, whose land Israel is, the nature of the Islam of the Qu'ran/hadith, and finally, a rundown of 2 categories of prophecies--messianic and general endtimes. Hunt shares prophecies about the restoration of Israel and coming judgment that are drawn from throughout the Bible, enlightening for those who think endtimes prophecy is confined to the symbol-filled book of Revelation. For those of us who actually believe and read the Bible (and not just in parts), 'Judgment Day' is old news, yet still valuable, since it expresses our own sentiments in a book we can give to illuminate others about today's #1 issue that dominates the news and nations' attention, Israel. I bought the book sooner than later, since although theoretically years could pass before the Tribulation, it's extremely unlikely in light of recent events, particularly now that the Israeli populace has joined the nations in the anti-God,land-for-peace approach, thus leaving little to stand in the way before calls to resolve the issue of all issues: Jerusalem, that final issue that prompts Armageddon. Stylistically, the narrative does get repetitive at times, but it's still the best I've read for conveying the political-prophetic connection in a manner pressing home urgency. Most everything else is trivia in light of this issue and the consequences for being on the wrong side.
