Wow, what a nice little package this is!,
By A listener (Rural Maine) - See all my reviews

Let me start off by saying that I'm reviewing the Austarilian Judith import with 3 bonus tracks. Whether or not that's what this is, I don't know. Anyways, this single contains Judith, live versions of Magdalena and Brena, as well as a demo version of Orestes, which has lead vocals by Howerdel(!) Everyone knows how much live APC kicks, and the incredible demo version of Orestes only sweetens the deal. Everything sounds amazing, and is well worth your money. Godspeed.

Great bonus material on this disc,
This review is from: Judith (Audio CD)
The two live tracks were recorded at the Key Club in California, days before the band started touring with Nine Inch Nails in early 2000. They blow away any of the live material floating around the 'net in MP3 form, including the audience recording of that show. The demo of Orestes is a nice touch, with Billy Howerdel on vocals-- though it seems to be chopped at both ends.If you were one of the lucky few who got the 'bonus' disc with the original Mer De Noms release, be aware that the two live tracks are the same ones that were on that bonus disc. Let's hope the band keeps this up, and puts similarly great extras on the upcoming singles for "The Hollow" and "Thinking of You"!

Billy finally sings,

Many people question who exactly is singing on the demo of "Orestes"...well, it is none other than Billy Howerdel himself. The track is amazing. You have to listen to it. Also, the live tracks are a real bonus ("Magdelena" is simply amazing in a live setting, second only to "Rose" for live amazingness).

Still stacks up today as a highlight of the 'good' APC era,
This review is from: Judith (Audio CD)
Everything that has been said about this single still applies, it is terrific and really shows the talent and effort they put in at the start of APC. Too bad it went downhill with thirteenth step and plummeted with amotion. Hopefully they can get back to that one day, until then buy this single and enjoy what you missed if you only just got into them.

The Judith cd single is an awesome start for any Perfect Circle fan, however it is a must have to a fan who already is into A Perfect Circle. This is a great cd featuring obviously "Judith" but thats not all there are also 2 live recordings which sound excellent. The live recordings are a good thing because thats what the fans want an Billy Howerdel gives us it with this single. Another thing I must stress to you all is although A Perfect Circle has vocals by Maynard James Keenan all of the songs were written by Billy Howerdell so although I am a Maynard/Tool fan give the guy some credit. His demo version of Orestes sounds awesome accoustic so buy it it's worthy of your money.

The first single...,
This review is from: Judith (Audio CD)
This is the first single, and as faw as i'm concerned... The best song on Mer De Noms. It's got Judith on it of coarse, which is just a step up of being more Tool-like then the rest of APC's songs. It has a live version of Magdalena and Brena, which are OK. But my favorite extra track is the Orestes demo. It basically sounds like the normal one, but it's sang by the lead guiterist of the group. Pretty cool. The only reason I gave this single 4 out of 5 stars is because they didn't include a video clip of Judith... That would of made sence if they were to do that don't you think..?

Once again Maynard comes out on top,

Maynard, orinally of Tool has done nothing but amaze the music industry since his first cd release "Opitate" with Tool, There is nothing less than this contained on A Perfect Circles single albums. If you enjoy Maynard's work then check out the new Deftones CD as you may be incredibly suprised by what you find.
