Great Overview! Comprehensive. Each track is labeled, so that you can choose to listen to three minutes on a specific subject (unlike other audio guides, where you have to listen to 45 minutes before you find what you're looking for). I would highly recommend this CD for exam review.

I almost didn't buy this set because the one review available at the time was so negative. I ended up buying it anyway because I really felt like I could use some help. I do not regret buying it at all! This CD really helped me sort out the essential messages I needed to learn from my Property course and the clear and methodical explanations of how to work out the various problems were extremely helpful. I found these explanations to be very good in writing 'the rules' into my outline.

Each property course varies, but this CD set was a good background to get you ramped up. He discusses subjects that may not be in your course, but that is to be expected. I saw another review on here panning these CDs.. Property is a hard subject. I didn't feel that he was long-winded.

Just as with the other Sum and Substance, this is a good basis for taking a property course.

He speaks slowly, but clearly. He does not provide many details succinctly, which makes this audio worthless to me. I gave up after sampling about 8 tracks and listening to 4 tracks all the way through while driving. I am better off just rereading my own notes and listening to something else when I am driving, etc. I am very disappointed.

BTW, regarding the topics not matching up with a particular law school course, I dealt with that by importing all the tracks as MP3s into iTunes. Then, I created a playlist with his audio for my iPod in the order of my course. I could have burned a disc with this playlist, also. That system worked great for me, unfortunately, the disc content, or lack thereof, did not. :(

Keep an open mind. Be realistic about what this lecture is, and what it is not. It IS a summary. It IS NOT a quick jolt of everything you need to know in order to score an 'A' on your exam. You have to read your casebook. I would even say you have to read other supplemental materials: case briefs, hornbooks, commercial outlines, and perhaps texts such as Examples & Explanations. Property is difficult. You will not be able to use this 7.5-hour audio lecture to replace the 270-360 hours worth of year-long preparation required to learn property law. If you think of it as a summary to help prompt your memory before, during, and after the class, then it is a wonderful tool, especially if you have spare time while driving, (and you are not prone to falling asleep the wheel).

I purchased the CD in hopes of reinforcing the information I'd learned during my first semester of law school and aiding my preparation for the first final.
The professor focused a lot more on the historical aspect of Property than my professor had, but it provided for a different way of approaching the material.
Overall, the lectures provided a pretty good overview of the subject matter.

This meets the standards of the usual superb Sum and Substance quality. Great for first time learning or final review. Highly recommended.

I just started property class, and I've listened to this set a few times. So far, the CD's do not follow our text at all. The subjects do not seem to line up. I have bought all of the 1L Sum & Substance CD's and so far, this set has been the worst. Maybe things will get better once I get further into property. The speaker seems to get into excruciating middle age detail, which does not seem to go along w/ my course.
