A Saxophone Juggernaut, May 12, 2008
This review is from: Juggernaut (Audio CD)
Dr. Jeremy Justeson is an amazing Saxophonist, his saxophone sound is an unstoppable force. I have had the privelege to be under Dr. Justeson's direction in ensembles as well as in the classroom. He is a major propent of contemporary music, and thanks to him, I have learned about many new composers and performed many exciting contemporary works. In a recent concert, he performed a piece for Alto Saxophone and wind ensemble, and the sound coming from his sax was a force to be reckoned with.
This album showcases all aspects of saxophone playing: a soft, delicate sound; loud, bombastic passages; high altissimo playing; fast, intricate patterns; and more! If you are interested in contemporary compositions or great saxophone playing, this is an album you need to hear! It is somewhat difficult to find classical saxophone recordings, and I urge you to pick this up if you study saxophone, because it is a great resource, as well as an interesting listen!

Title says it all., March 23, 2006
This review is from: Juggernaut (Audio CD)
When I read the description to the title track, Juggernaut, I understood. Not only does the piece Juggernaut fit the descriptive title, an unstoppable force, but all the pieces on this CD are played with the same energy.
