Book Description

Tales from Devana High January 19, 2006
Suky is still trying to fool her parents that Jit is her boyfriend instead of Imi. This means an obligatory family day out with her folks for Jit, whose patience is wearing thin with the whole idea. And then there's Grace...she's acting really strangely around him lately - he can't figure her out at all. And back at school, no sooner have Jit and Dean got Jason Patel off their backs than his cousin come on the scene and - guess what? - he's even more of a thug than Jason. Jit and Dean have got to sort him out, and Jit's got to tell Suky enough is enough. And Grace? It's about time she told Jit how she really feels about him...

About the Author

Bali Rai was working in a bar in Leicester while he wrote his first novel, Unarranged Marriage, which went on to receive great critical acclaim and three awards after Random House published it. RH went on to commission two more books from him and he has since gone from strength to strength. His second teen novel The Crew, published in 2003, and his follow up, Rani and Sukh was published in 2004.Bali's enthusiasm and interest in his readers, takes him all over the country, talking to children in schools, testing out his latest writing and gathering feedback. His authentic voice, accessible writing style and subtle deadpan humour give his books a real credibility and his voice a true 21st Century quality. Bali is currently working on his series for younger readers, Tales from Devana High, the first of which, Concrete Chips, was published in June 2004.
