I picked up this book because my sister has been talking a lot lately about buying a juicer and doing juicer for weight loss. Naturally I wanted to see what this whole juicing this was about. What I liked right off the bat was the explanation of WHY anyone would juice. After reading that all the nutrients and vitamins are retained with juicing (which may not be the case with cooking) that a person would instantly feel the results, including skyrocketing energy. That's enough reason for me to seriously consider getting a juicer.

Having said that - - I do own a really good blender so I was happy to find some cleansing recipes for detox that you could do with a blender, including a sweet veggie drink and a garden veggie tonic. I avoid things like V8 because I can't do the high salt content - so being able to put together my own version without the salt is great. If I decide to buy a juicer, I'm going to work my way through each of the recipes in this book - and hopefully work up to the 10 day program.

After a long period of deliberation, I have decided to go vegetarian, well that is until I have tried all the delicious recipes in Easy Vegetarian Recipes: Recipes For Healthy Living (Healthy Living Series). When that is done, I am going on a mission of juicing for a smaller waistline.

I have never tried juicing before because the idea of consuming liquids alone was a little disturbing. I kept getting images of being emaciated rather than slim as a result. What I can say about this book is that it is truly a beginners guide. It's not hard core like some of the other juicing books that require you to some extreme things. I think that you can juice and supplement with a vegetarian diet just in case you can't feel satisfied consuming the cocktails alone and still lose weight.

The intent behind this diet is to lose weight and heal your body so you look natural and healthy at the end. I think the recipes are simple and almost anyone with a juicer could follow the diet. It's not rocket science. There are some easy recipes included that you can do with a blender as well, so that is a plus.

Juicing at home on the whole is a much healthier way to detox and feed your body much needed vitamins. Ready made substitutes like V8 have preservatives and are high in salt. It is the same as choosing to prepare your meals at home rather than eating out.

The writing was not constructed very well but the content had a lot of merit and if you do a little research you will be able to verify all of the nutritional benefit claims. I would recommend this book for beginners and suggest that they try incorporating a few hard veggies into their diet to satisfy the need to actually chew on something in order to feel satisfied.

It has lots of good recipes, some of which I've modified to fit my palate. My doctor has requested those modifications to lessen the sugar content of all the fruit. Be careful, if you are a diabetic or borderline, as I am.

I love juicing, have for years, so I downloaded this book in the hope of finding new recipes. I wasn't disappointed. There are some lovely recipes in this handy little book - in fact I haven't tried one that I don't like yet! I especially love the Gingered Pear, the Pink Delight and the Apple, Lime & Lemon Detox. I've started keeping my Kindle in the kitchen so I can refer to it, and doing a quick juice before dinner each night. Feeling quite a buzz from it!

This book was OK. I could have learned about these reciped from the internet. Nothing new. But the good side of this book was that I didn't have to search on the internet and just read this book that had receipes. This is of interest to me because I am going to buy a juicer in the near future.
