Very good performance with one drawback,

This review is from: Juiceman JM503 Juiceman Pro 3-Speed Juice Extractor (Kitchen)
I've used the Juiceman JM503 for over 2 years and have used it practically every day. I make approximately 1 quart of juice a day from carrots, ginger, apple, oranges, sweet potatoes, beets, kiwis, pomegranates, celery and various greens. It's performed great handling anything I put into it. It's fairly easy to clean once you get used to it. I feel great, have endless energy and wouldn't do with out it. In fact it stopped working this morning so I went to look for a replacement. I looked at a few different manufactures and decided in the end to try to fix the Juiceman which I did this evening. Juice had leaked into unit from juice flowing over the stainless steel bowl which surrounds the spinning shredder. The juice leaking and hardening over time had coated the armature of the electric motor and preventing electric current from the motor brushes from flowing to the armature. The unit should have a gasket or flange to prevent juice from flowing up and out of the bowl which collects and flows juice into the pitcher. Other than that design weakness the juicer is exceptional. I bought a Breville Ikon juicer for my Mother and tried it. Not bad but more expensive that the Juiceman and produced noticeably less juice.
Update many months later. Still would highly recommend this juicer. I continue to use it nearly everyday to juice for 3 people which is well over a quart a day. I juice practically every type of fruit and vegetable only removing thick peels and it handles everything easily. The pulp is consistently nearly dry indicating that it's removing most of the juice. I've taken it apart 3 times to clean the motor brushes due to the leaking juice problem I described earlier above. It's time to do it again and this time the motor brushes will need to be replaces as they've worn done to a 1/4 inch. I provided feedback to the manufacture regarding the leakage into the motor and although they offered a discount on the purchase of a new juice which isn't what I was asking for, they didn't acknowledge the feedback or indicate that they had or would redesign the juicer.

I have been juicing for a lot of years using a variety of juice extractors, and the Juiceman JM503 is far and away the best juicer I have ever used or have seen my friends use. It is powerful, easy to use, and a breeze to clean up. Whoever designed this machine gave it a lot of thought and testing. I know I should be able to find at least one chink in the armor, but I cant see anything I would change. Thanks for a great product: I would recommend this to friends and family as well, without fear of it bouncing back to me.

This is a great machine. I love the stainless steel, the wide mouth & the variety of speeds. The machine is not too loud, so I don't know why others have complained. There are a few minor issues that are quickly resolved if you follow the instructions to the letter. Putting it together for the first time was a challenge, until I read the directions. Now it's a breeze. This morning I had a little difficulty trying to juice a sweet potato. I guess it was too hard and it jammed the machine. I cleared it, and recut the potato and it was fine. (but I don't recommend juicing sweet potatoes with this unit.) Also if you put too much fruit or vegetable through the chute at once, it will jam the unit & cause it to shut down. (This is a good safety feature to keep from burning out the motor- despite the inconvenience)So, I just un-plugged it, cleared the chute & restarted, no problem. Makes great juice of all sorts. A quick cleanup tip- use a plastic bag in the pulp catcher & I use a vegetable brush to clean the filter, no sweat. I Highly recommend this unit. (I don't usually recommend anything unless it's exceptional.)

Bought the Original Juiceman 20yearsago. Still going strong. My daughter moved out but not before adopting my penchant for juicing. You guessed it my Juiceman went with her.I hit the internet for research and became utterly confused. After thinking aboutit I realized the Juiceman never let me down before so read the reviews and ordered the JUICEMAN JM503 from Amazon(they are the best).
Delivered as promised. Opened the package and looked at my new Stainless Steel Juiceman-WOW! Easily put it together and admired this QUALITY product. Turned it on and juiced. My wife and I was amazed how quiet it was.. Taking it apart and cleaning it was a snap. This is one great machine. My overall impression of this machine? WOW. PS Dont tell my daughter.

Great Design Improvements!,

This design is a great improvement over other Juiceman juicers. The stainless steel body is easy to clean. The polycarbon top has a wider feed opening and easy to clean with a micro fiber cloth. The same for the polycarbon waste bin. The juicers power gives 10% more juice from each fruit or veggie. The (3) power levels are great to adjust for soft to hard items. Plus you get a polycarbon container with a splash and foam control lid.

I purchased this after reading a lot of the good reviews on amazon. When I received it, it was as good as I had heard and expected. I used it routinely for 7 weeks. I didn't use it for 1 week and then when I was going to use it again, I prepped all my fruit and veggies and went to turn it on and nothing! It wouldn't turn on, and I tried all the outlets in my kitchen, reassembled the machine and everything. So I went onto Amazon to read the poor reviews about it and they all said the same thing. I called the warranty dept and they said that all they could do was to send me a new machine; but not the $149.99 machine that I researched and purchased! No, they wanted to swap mine out for a $70.00 poorly rated machine! I don't think so. I am not in the habit of throwing money out the window and that is what they are asking me to do. I only had this machine for 8 WEEKS! I have never been so poorly disappointed in a purchase on Amazon.com. I will continue to negotiate with the warranty dept to get a full refund.

Works very will with large quantity of food. I tried juicing a small quantity, and it just spits it out the pulp side. Works so much better than a cheap Wal Mart product, which I used once and gave to the Goodwill. This one does a really nice job of juicing, and is very fast.

I bought this machine to replace a cheap hamilton beach juicer that is a pain in the rear to clean. In that respect it did not disappoint. Cleanup is a breeze. However, first unit lasted less than 24 hours before it started running at slow speed whenever it was plugged in. On/off switch had no effect. Sent it back to amazon for a new one.
Second juicer lasted 24 hours. The third time I used it, it ran for a few seconds and died. Made a total of four glasses of juice before giving up the ghost. I will go back to my pain in the rear hamilton-beach and shop around for while. As always Amazon made the returns as painless as possible. They can be proud. The makers of the juiceman, on the other hand should be ashamed.

I used Amazon customer reviews to decide which juicer to buy and could not be more pleased with this one. It took me a while to sort out some of the parts and how much to feed it, etc., but it has worked quite well. I understood a good criteria to judge the efficiency is how dry the pulp is, and this is almost powdery!
Cleaning is always a pain with juicers, but this one is not difficult. It takes more time than it does to drink the juice, but that is OK -- I truly appreciate the benefits of the wonderfully fresh juice I can have as often as I want it. Thanks to Amazon for the use of your customer reviews -- I trust them.

I like the juicer. I am an experienced juicer, this being my 3rd juicer in 15 years of juicing. It's quiet, efficient, and very easy to use. It can hold a ton of pulp. It's easy to load since it takes half an apple, half a beet. It has different speeds. It even comes with a pitcher to receive the juice. It's big though. Although it is easy to clean, the big parts cover an amazing part of the kitchen (our kitchen is small)as they dry. I would buy this juicer again. I recommend it. I bought it because Consumer Reports rated it #1.
