I don't buy compilations. Ever. Except if they're from the likes of Thievery Corp. or possibly when they're part of the "Back To Mine" series of late night, laid back, chill (lordy, do i hate that word) grooves (i'm not crazy about that one either). Boozoo Bajou does it good. All the way good. This is the Big Easy; smokey and righteous. If Sam Cooke, Dr. John and DJ Krush could hang together on the veranda of some ante bellum shack on the edge of the bayou dripping with spanish moss on a steamy summer night, they'd be spinning this disk and kicking back with fat stogies and bottomless mint juleps. This is one sweet mix, child. Buy it, play it, let it infuse your soul.

Because this is primarily a selection of Boozoo Bajou's favourite tracks. Nothing wrong with that, but a lot of them are very different, far more "easy listening" than the highly atmospheric, often quite radical beats that permeate their other albums. Sure, you get two reasonable Boozoo Bajou cuts in "Pflug" & "Back Up", plus their stunningly beautiful remix of Tony Joe White's "Rainy Night in Georgia" (which is almost worth the price of the album on its own), but what surrounds them - good as it is - may not be what you're expecting and it's definitely worth checking out the sound clips first to avoid disappointment.

You may recognize some of the tracks from the likes of the Meters, Tony Joe White, and Hanne Hukkelberg, as well as a few of their own tracks mixed in.
Released in the US on Aug 8, but worldwide Jul 11, this 20-track wonderbread of whirlwind style and classy mellow sunday afternoon tooons mixes well with company of any kind, and groovable on any given... Bajou party. Yummy.

This is the perfect, definitive album of chillaxing music.
Everytime Alice Russell's R&B song "Hurry On Now" comes on, you will see your date's, guests', or friends' ears pick up and just start burning. Now that is good music. This album is perfect, no fillers, no junk, just good good music. Love it. I strongly recommend this for any music collection.

The mix of grooves in this copilations is very good, the tracks very from one style to the next, from soul to regge to some hip-hop but after all this is more for people who is willing to risk it, to listen to some cool beats relax and enjoy, com'n from Boozoo Bajou you could'nt expect anything less.
