This is our fourth pair of julbo sunglasses for kids.

The Julbo sunglasses are "dummy proof" - there is no up/down, so your child can put them on and they'll be the "right way" no matter what.

My sun has very light sensitive eyes and has to wear sunglasses and a hat when he's outside.

We purchased these sunglasses for our two-year old daughter prior to a beach vacation. I had seen children's sunglasses before but had not focused on them much as I didn't think that she could keep them on last summer at ~18 months, so she wore a wide brim hat. At that time I bought a pair of very inexpensive sunglasses that fit with adjustable elasticized straps; these were ok for minimal use but slipped and later on the (inexpensive) lenses popped out!

Based on this experience, I wanted to avoid any lense pop-outs, and also find shades that our child could put on -- and that would stay on -- with minimal parental intervention (no straps for me to adjust, etc.). The Julbo sunglasses are "dummy proof" - there is no up/down, so your child can put them on and they'll be the "right way" no matter what. The glasses have no hinges and basically wrap around the wearer's head (but not in an uncomfortable way - we'd hear about it otherwise). These sunglasses are also quite durable: they flex quite a bit (my daughter has made them almost flat a few times, ugh), they withstand frequent dropping, and then mirror lenses do not pop out and do not scratch.

Our daughter LOVES these glasses. She has worn them nearly daily now since our vacation in early March. When we first got them in the dreary dead of winter, she seemed to wonder why she needed them, but quickly became a fan in the sun on vacation. Now that we're home, a month and half later she still asks for them each time we out if she can't find them. She's quick to tell us if something isn't right (too hot, itchy, etc.) and we have never received any complaints about these glasses.

We receive positive comments on the glasses from strangers almost each time we go out - people seem to like the "look.

These are sturdy little glasses my daughter has actually worn a few times (which is a first for sunglasses). Her long eyelashes don't touch the lenses, and they fit well. One thing I didn't realize, which you may want to know, is that they do not fold at all. They are molded in the open position. Not a big deal, it just means they don't fit in my pocket. I showed her pictures of other little kids in sunglasses, and that encouraged her to finally try them on. She's only worn them a few times, but it's better than nothing!

These are a great pair of toddler sunglasses. We bought these sunglasses to replace our daughter's old pair that had accidentally gotten stepped on. We wanted to find a new pair that she could use by herself (the old ones were Baby Banz and while great otherwise, require a lot of parent intervention), and these Julbo sunglasses fit that bill perfectly!

These sunglasses have many things going for them, including:

    1. They have really fun color combinations, which gives a toddler lots of options to express her independence and find exactly the right colors. We've figured out this is important :) and so we let her pick the glasses she wanted, and I think this contributes to *her* overall enjoyment of them.

    2. As a few other reviews have noted, they are easy for your toddler to take on and off by himself/herself. This both allows them to choose when and how they want to wear them *and* gives you, the parent, a break from constantly repositioning glasses (as we had to do with the old pair).

    3. There is a cord included that will help keep these sunglasses attached to your toddler, even if they take them off. It turns out that we don't use this cord because the cord attachments looked like they might dig into the side of her head some. The attachments are pretty soft, and now she's used to pulling them all the way off of her face so we aren't likely to go back (at least for the moment). But! I can see the utility of the cord and am pleased that they include it with the sunglasses.

    4. For sunglasses that allow our daughter to use them herself, I am VERY glad that they are omnidirectional. There is no 'correct' orientation, so, again, we have to do less maintenance and our daughter is happy for the independence.

A good pair of quality sunglasses for the 18month old to 3 1/2 year age range as the frames are flexible and do not have any hinges or pins which can snap off when the child handles them. There is also no wrong way to put them on your face which my son likes because he can take them off and put them on himself. They also sit snugly on my son's face and close to his eyes without gaps around the edges and so provide excellent eye protection from the sun. The colour range is good. My only criticism would be that a) they are a little expensive at $26 when you have to tack on shipping to Australia (another $12); b) a child with a wide or round face may not fit the Julbo Looping III comfortably or for very long; c) I wish they made a Julbo Looping IV for the 4-7 age group with the same flexible no-hinge frame; and d) I wish they were being sold in Australian stores so I didnt have to buy them online and pay extra for shipping. The merchant was very prompt at posting the sunglasses and I am grateful for their excellent customer service.
