If you are on any level a fan of Julia Child, this is a "must have." It is warm, charming, entertaining, and very beautifully narrated by Michael Murphy. Her life is a fascinating one, and her exuberance for living is inimitable. Worth the cost just for Murphy's reading of a birthday sonnet Paul Child wrote for Julia before they married.

The biography of Julia Child was very good. I wanted to see if the movie, Julie and Julia, followed pretty closely. It did! Loved the movie, btw. :)

This is a very interesting video of Julia Child's life. She went through very difficult moments in her life, but her exceptional optimism and 'joie de vivre' always helped her going forward... and win. She was a wonderful lady.

I have been a Julia Child fan for years. After seeing the 2010 Film "Julia & Julie" with Meryl Streep's Oscar winning portrayal of Ms. Julia, I fell in love with her all over again.
This is not a COOKING Session DVD. It is a documentary- a PBS American Masters Production, which gives excellent insight into her life. It's mostly personal from childhood through college and her discovery of herself and later-in-life her love for cooking. It is wonderful to see her with her beloved husband Paul and the behind the scenes clips from her many PBS -TV Series. If you are a Julia fan, looking for more insight into what made her tick- this is a well-done film and won't disappoint. Ms. Julia is captivating and inspiring that life is meant to be loved, lived and enjoyed and if it's not FUN- why bother? She remains a marvel- Bon Appite indeed!
