this is mostly a story of a young girl who is confused about life and relationships. trying to find the perfect one--if there is one. the acting could be better and kind of boring in some spots--the phone scenes tend to drag on a little too long--- but still it is a good rainy-day movie. and a great one to see a young, charming david duchovny

The opening scene sets the stage for this movie. A folk song establishes the mood, and David is on the phone wheeling and dealing before it is finished. David and Daphna are on the phone for the first half hour of the movie! This may sound like a risky move for the director, but it builds the characters extremely well. The ending is unforgettable as the last song sends viewers to the rewind button to watch the whole thing one more time.

it's too bad this video is currently out of print; it's an interesting look at some quirky characters with dysfunctional relationships and lifestyles. AND it's an absolute must-see for admirers of David Duchovny! you gotta see him pre-MULDER to appreciate his range potential; i see comedy in his future!

I saw this film years ago, and still am pleasantly reminded of the ending when I get a wrong number. On-screen, David is a woman's dream come true; romantic, vulnerable, talkative, and sexy. Just wish the video was available for purchase again.

Story isn't the greatest although it's OK. At least the dialogue was reasonably interesting and not just the usual junk. But let's not kid around, the attraction is Duchovny. Very very sexy performance (except for when he's being a snake). If Mulder makes you sweat, this movie is not to be missed. Favorite part: during the phone conversation that comprises the first 1/2 of the movie, Duchovny is on his bed, on his back, listening to a sort of sexy story. As he silently listens, he slowly tucks just half his hand into the waistband of his pants. Oh man. He makes me sweat.

Fans of David Duchovny must check this movie out! His portrayal of a womanizing, less-than-honest hunk who calls women up randomly and pursues a one night stand is outrageously funny! And sexy! In the tradition of Duchovny's other sexy role in Red Shoe Diaries, this movie is definitely hot! The plot may be lacking, but when you have David Duchovny running around shirtless, WHO CARES? Definitely one to watch more than once, but for diehard Duchovny fans only!

I bought this movie years ago when I did a search and found out David Duchovny (Mulder from X-Files) was in it. It shouldn't spoil the plot to tell you a big part of the movie involves a long phone conversation with "Julia" (an actress I hadn't seen before and haven't seen after) and Duchovny's character. This is not Mulder. He was adorable, funny, charming, and he made the movie for me. Daphna Kastern was good in the role, but not a stand-out. I'm not such a fanatic that I love all Duchovny movies, so believe me when I tell you this is a winner. I lost my original copy and am buying it again, which should tell you something. If I had to categorize it, it's probably in the romantic comedy genre. I subtracted one star in case you're not a Duchovny fan. If you are, though, you must get this! thanks, adrian

The Duchovny factor in this movie is undeniable, yes, but after taking another look I've come to think of this a very good movie. It was very cheaply made, and the the acting is a little uneven, but the story is interesting, and the dialogue is (much of it ad libbed by the actors) funny and even poignant at times, and there is even a message here, of self discovery and independence. So try to look beyond the flaws and enjoy this film! (If you can find it anywhere!)
