The Knock Down Rain Barrel allows you to efficiently and quickly bring your rain water to whatever area you need it. You will enjoy having fresh water for all of your landscaping needs during the dry season with this collapsable rain barrel. This rain barrel is designed to hook directly to your down spout or gutter system with little to no hassle. The whole system includes a removable filter to keep out small debris and insects. The Barrel is fashioned from a special flexible laminated polyester which provides superior strength, durability, and resistance to weathering. It is naturally UV resistant and so will hold its color for many years. The Rain Barrel features an easy access zippered lid. With this lid you can use your rain water through the hose or by dunking in your watering can. There are five heavy duty legs to support this collapsible rain barrel. 156 gallons is pretty big for a rain barrel but the saving grace for our application is that it is placed out of the way in a nook where it will not be seen. When it is half full (half-empty, take your pick), the legs lean inward and the whole thing sags. If you live where there is so much rain year round that it will almost always be full, this would not be a problem, but then maybe you wouldn't need one. Rigid acrylic ones are much smaller but more attractive if you are going to put one where it will be seen. Zipper has come apart and so far can be fixed by unzipping, rezipping, but I wonder how well it will last.

I've had the worst time with this item. Last week, after filling up from a storm, it collapsed into my window well and flooded my basement. if it collapses once it's like it can never be fully sturdy again. I've had to go back to a solid barrel.

I purchased this rain barrel because it offers much higher capacity than most, and it works well overall. However, when it's less than half full, it starts to look pretty strange. Like another reviewer, I keep mine in a place where it's not obvious to the neighbors, but it bothers me a little. I may buy other rain barrels in the future, but will most likely purchase something made of a solid material.

not what up to par
The item works and I like the drain hose. But it not really collapible. The metal roles that form the support poles are up whether the barrel is full or empty. Read more
