If you feel like your kids should listen to music because it's an important part of their development, your right! Thankfully, Hi-5 is singable, danceable music, that you can really bond with your kids over.

This CD is aptly named "Jump and Jive with Hi-5" because you'll be up on your feet! For older kids (6-8), it's a wonderful alternative to some of the tween music out there that seems to be targeting younger and younger audiences. For younger kids, not only is it great music, there's a real educational component as well -- you'll find your kids learning about the five senses, colors, musical rhythms, word games, animals -- the list goes on and on.

The five members of Hi-5, Curtis Cregan, Jennifer Peterson-Hind, Karla Cheatham-Mosley, Kimee Balmilero and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, all have impressive conservatory and theater credentials. More importantly to your children, their energy and love for this group really shines through on every song. Parents will love that these young adults are great role models. They have worked hard at their craft, and obviously enjoy their audiences. Their clothing styles are fun and modern, yet modest, rather than the belly baring, skin piercing that is so popular these days.

Despite the activity this music inspires, you will want an extra copy for your car. Your kids won't be asking "are we there yet?" when you put this on -- they'll be having too much fun! Better yet, you will too!

Singable, danceable music -- who could ask for more? Well, you'll get it, because in addition to a booklet with great pictures from the show, the CD is enhanced to play games on the computer and get more information about the show. It's just like they say -- the fun never ends with HI-5!

We have been eagerly awaiting this CD and were so excited to receive ours today!!! For those of you who do not know who Hi-5 is, check out The Learning Channel (TLC) at 7:30 on weekday mornings or the Discovery Kids channel at 7:00 & 10:00 (I think) on weekday mornings!

The songs on this CD and the voices are good enough to be pop hits but thankfully, not annoying or offensive. Each performer (and you can check out the other review of this CD for more details about them) sings wonderfully and with great energy.

My family has been fortunate enough to see this group perform live 3 times. Listening to this CD gave us chills all over again and reminded us of how amazing they are.

I have a 6 year old daughter and a 2.5 year old daughter. BOTH girls love listening to this music and even the 2.5 year old has mastered many of the lyrics. It is hard for either of them (or their Mom) to sit still when this music comes on.

I can't compare this group to any other children's music out there because nothing else really compares. The songs are quality, the voices are fantastic and the beat is great! I am even considering using it for my work-outs :-).

One other personal note - I have met the members of Hi-5 at each of the performances I attended. They are so kind, sincere and patient with each of their fans from the youngest to the oldest. They seem to genuinely care for their fans and for the music/show they are creating. While I know we were very lucky to have met them and not everyone who buys this CD will get that opportunity I wanted to be sure that you all know that these are people who care about your children!

Do you get tired of listening to your children's music in the car? With HI-5, even parents will be dancing and singing along. The music styles and the great voices and harmonies make HI-5 stand above the rest.
You won't regret buying this CD. Its has WAY more songs then the Aussie cast import CD too.

A little over a year ago, we stumbled upon Hi-5 one morning. Since then, we've been hooked. We have grown to love the music, skits, and personalities! We appreciate the education included in this show and the fact that they take it well beyond the alphabet and numbers. As an early childhood educator/researcher by trade, I can go on and on about how the foundation of early childhood education involes much more than just letters & numbers! It is programs like this that make a positive difference in the lives of our children. This generation is laden with too much negativity. This positive contribution to American television should not be undermined by anyone. I only hope that Hi-5 can gain an afternoon television slot at some point as, though sad but true, kids get home from school and stick like glue to the television. Programs such as Hi-5 is what they need to be watching.

Hi-5 has 3 dvd's released and now this CD, this CD is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE for every family. The music included will not only make your little ones faces light up, but will be sure to get them up and moving. You too might find yourself dancing right along to these easy to dance to songs! Learn the real dance moves from watching the DVDs or program on television, or make up your own. Either way, you'll find yourself LOVING this CD!

My daughter loves the American Hi-5 group. She dances and sings to this cd in the car on a regular basis, not to mention watching the show on TLC. It is a cd that she enjoys and one that even I (her mom) enjoy listening and singing to. This is a must have for children!

This is a fantastic CD for the young and the young at heart. The Hi-5 gang sings energetic songs that are sure to get listeners dancing. The songs are educational, yet fun. When this CD arrived my younger brother listened, laughed, and learned--he was having so much fun he didn't even know he was learning. I strongly recommend this CD (btw, the song "Elephant's Trunk" is my personal favorite)!

Isabella is about to turn 2 but has been a #1 fan of Hi-5 for quite a few months. The show is entertaining enough that her Daddy has no problem sitting down and watching a show (tivo) with his Princess when he walks in from work. She has no interest in TV unless it's Hi-5 which we are happy about. Though because she loves the music so much she was asking for it 24/7. Wanting to limit her time in front of the TV we bought her the CD which she enjoys as much if not more!
We happily dance to it in the house and sing along in the car.

I have a 3-year-old daughter, so that means we have a full selection of toddler music available at all times during car trips. While most of it is very tiresome, even grating, to an adult, "Jump and Jive with Hi-5" is a pleasant exception.

Hi-5's music is suprisingly polished and commercial for children's music. So much so, in fact, that I actually VOLUNTARILY listened to a few tracks ON MY OWN. That's right, no toddler present in the car!

What makes the music good? Well, some of the catchiest tunes are basically club tracks with children's lyrics. "Robot No. 1" could probably be well-received in a dance club without alteration. Other surprisingly good tracks are "North, South, East and West" and "Ready or Not."

If you want music that your child will love and that you will be able to bear without contemplating driving headlong into an abutment, then "Jump and Jive with Hi-5" is for you!

My mom and my little brother really love Hi-5. I'm 10, and I also love them. They have great songs to dance and sing to and I think its really great when my mom starts to dance all the dances with my brother. They remember all the steps from the TV show (on TLC and Discovery Kids)and they just have a really good time. I usually make fun of them, but its really funny to watch.
