I recently purchased this because I had come across Willie and the Poor Boys, "Tear It Up - Live" and liked a lot of the cuts on it. Particularly, when Gary Brooker came front and center, the cut commanded your attention and it was excellent rock and roll. "High School Confidential" and "What'd I Say" just jump off the CD and are a great listen.

However, on this double disc, Brooker is around only on the first disc and he lights up "Land of 1000 Dances", "Good Golly Miss Molly", "Stagger Lee", "Rockin Pneumonia..." and a few others. His cuts continue to be consistently excellent. Also, the guitar work on "Tear It Up" is just amazing (Albert Lee). After that, the musicians and performances are just ok. There is a good cut of "Chantilly Lace" on the second disc but that is about it.

Again, as a review, I would get "Tear It Up - Live" by Willie and the Poor Boys first before purchasing this live set. Many of the players are the same and the audio and performances are much better.

Bill Wyman left the Stones....you may have heard of them, big in England a few other spots. Anyway, he started touring around the UK doing shows with some players he always wanted to play with. They did some live (hard to get) albums called the "Bootleg Kings"...3 I believe? This is the best of that stuff. It is blues boogie at its best. Get it and crank it up. People have said if Wyman wasn't in the band it would be any generic blues based boogie bar band...maybe so, but it is great stuff none the less and the players are second to none.
