Hustling with the Hoff,
By Karen Magill "Paranormal Novelist" (Vancouver, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jump in My Car (Audio CD)
With the style only he can project, David Hasselhoff is telling you to `Jump In My Car'. Are you game?
Hasselhoff has taken the 1975 hit by the Ted Mulry Gang and put his unique stamp on it. Yet he wisely kept enough of the original so that those who remember the tune can smile and reminisce. `Jump In My Car' is fun. The beat is uplifting, the lyrics are catchy and it makes the listener feel good. At least it makes me feel good and sets my feet tapping. Hasselhoff's voice is well suited for this song: something about it adds just the right flavor to this tune. The second cut on the CD Single is an EMC Remix of `Jump In My Car' and it begins with Hasselhoff talking to his old friend, KITT. Talking about hustling women. It's a different take on the song, modernized. Special. Finally the CD also features the video. And this is an exceptional treat. Here we get to see how entertaining this song can really be. Using plays on `Hoff' and `Baywatch' and the ever-reliable KITT, Hasselhoff has created a visual delight. I confess that I caught the video a few times on the Internet before I received the CD and enjoyed it every time. This CD single is well worth the money.

A tantalizing morsel from the Hoff!,

There's just one single here, but it's a great one. Jump in My Car whets your appetite for more Hoff. This includes the video, so you can just visualize the Hoffmeister jumping in his car...guaranteed to drive the ladies wild. Guys, if you're looking to score, consider this an instructional video.
If you need more Hoff, try The Very Best of David Hasselhoff, you will not be disappointed.

What a pleasant surprise!,

David Hasselhoff performed this song live on America's Got Talent and stole the show! What a fun tune! Can't wait to hear the different mixes and see the video on the CD single. His back-up singers/dancers, The Hoffetts, are absolutely gorgeous! Keep up the good work, David! A big white check mark for talent on this one!

Great Aussie music,

Nice to know someone has revamped a Ted Mulry song. Ted has a great back catalogue. Hoff should also take another of Ted's old song for a test drive. "I won't look back" is kinda like "Jump in my car" with a great beat and great bass line....

Jump in Hasselhoff !,

Whether you're eating a badly made cheeseburger off the floor or driving a black sports car with a turbo boost, this is the song for you!
Perhaps there is a better example of 80's icon (moving into the 90's for a short while) covering a semi-successful song that most people have probably never heard, reaching No.2 in the UK charts due to ridiculous TV and radio publicity and then swiftly disappearing from the charts forever...but if there is I've not witnessed it. While listening to this song for the umpteenth time I was reminded of a talentless Bib Brother reject releasing a novelty record in the vain hope of earning a few extra quid before going back to their day job, only this is musical genius and the Hoff is no flash in the pan BB halfwit. For 3 minutes or so he delivers the kind of vocals that would make Tom Jones faint, and the video has put Scorsese out of the job. Purchase this for the one you love, or all of the ones you love. Admittedly it's not as particularly good as `Hot Shot City', but then what is?

Loved it so much I grabbed my cat and started cutting the rug with her. She's a big fan of the Hoff as well.

A silly song with a joke performance,
By Marty M. (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews

Although the lyrics in this song are tongue in cheek, the lack of vocal talent makes the song flop. I think the performer should realize that his style is simply too cheesy for a sophisticated American audience who expects real talent from music artists.
