2.0 out of 5 stars Same old pop formula...great for kids though.
Jump 5 remind me so much of the A*Teens its pathetic. They have 2 guys, 2 girls and their first single "Spinnin' Around" sounds like they switched a few lyrics from "Bouncing Off The Ceiling" around to get the result: "Spinning around I got this funny feeling, you turn my whole world upside down..." The A*Teens song goes "Upside down,...

I got Jump5's cd for christmas and havent stopped listening to it!!
1. spinnin around - 4/5. i really like this song, i heard it on wow 2002, but it gets kinda old after a while
2. virtual reality - 4/5. i didnt like this song at first but after listening to it a bunch of times, i really like it!
3. change a heart, change the world - 5/5. i love this song, its soooo pretty!! =0)
4. meaning of life - 5/5. another awesome song w/ great lyrics
5. all i want - 5/5. "who rocks the house, we say that jump5 rocks the house..." lol i love this song!! its an interesting mix of a wicked pretty chorus and rap thing...its cool.
6. wish that i could read your mind - 5/5! I LOVE THIS SONG!! it's probly my favorite song on the CD!! great to sing along to
7. tell me why - 3/5. traditional pop chorus, any one could sing it, i like the "heyyy-yeahhh" in the beginning. lol
8. i belong to you - 3/5. good song, good lyrics, not a memorable song.
9. love ya too much - 5/5. i absolutely LOVE this song!! almost as much as #6!! my fave part is the bridge.
10. when i say your name - 4/5. good song, kind of boring after a while
11. start jumpin' - 4/5. awesome song. i dont usually like that kind of song but its good. they all have great voices.
So this is an awesome cd, and great for singing along to. i only gave it 4 stars because it left me wanting more -- lyrically, because sometimes their lyrics are kind of "straddling the fence" and could be going either way - sung to a person or to God. also, the CD is WAY TOO SHORT!! it goes by way to fast. i'm looking forward to a sophomore CD from Jump5.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Jump5 (Audio CD)
This is a great cd to listen to! Especially if you're a Christian. As you all know (hopefully!) Jump5 is a Christian group. It was great seeing them in concert twice! Haha! LOL! They are great people (teens?)!! Their songs are great to dance to! Most of them are full of energy! In fact, I'm listening to this cd right now! LOL! In the whole cd there is 42 minutes and 32 seconds. So it's less than an hour of course! Personally my favorites are: actually, all of the songs are my favorites! Haha! LOL! This cd also has two bonus trax: Start Jumpin' (Radio Disney Remix) and God Bless The USA. You can hear many of Jump5's songs on Radio Disney and probably Christian Radio Stations. Also check out their other albums/cds: All The Time In The World, All The Joy In The World (a Christmas cd), Accelerate, Mix It Up (Remix of Accelerate I think), and their newest one, Dreaming In Color. To check tourdates, go to their website for information, www.jump.com! Also, sadly Libby dropped out of the group. So yeah! There is only 4 people now. Not 5! I hope my review helped! If it did, PLEASE CLICK YES! If it didn't, I'm so sorry! Click NO if you want....:(....Bye! God Bless!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jump5, August 29, 2001
This review is from: Jump5 (Audio CD)
I first heard "Spinnin Around" whilst listening to AIR1 radio ... on the internet and was absolutely hooked. Jump5 are a bunch of Christian kids who will undoubtably being making an impact both on the CCM and secular scene in the next few years (already highly playlisted and requested on Radio Disney for example).
If you're into catchy pop then the album gives all that you've ever wanted from fast paced dance-floor fillers (Spinnin Around) to slower tracks (Change a Heart). Jump5 provide all and more that you'd expect from the likes of the boybands or A:Teens and you'd never even realise that you were listening to a bunch of young teenagers if you hadn't seen the photos!!
Buy the album and realise just how good and musically relevant Christian music can get, and if you've got a spare five minutes on your knees, pray that God will use these kids powerfully to speak just not to the youngsters in the pews but those on the street outside.

Jump5 is energetic and very positive. It keeps you rocking and the talent these kids have is unbelievable. I think it is an awesome CD to buy for the kids. My husband bought it for the girls having a slumber party. There was 18 girls ages 13-15 and they loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this CD today!, August 17, 2001
This review is from: Jump5 (Audio CD)
When I heard the first song from this CD, I knew I had to get it! This new and hyper music group is made up of kids who have had voice and dance lessons since they were 3 or 4 years old! "Spinning Around" and "Tell Me Why" are my favorite songs on the CD because they're full of energy. But "Change a Heart, Change the World" and "Love Ya' Too Much" are also great songs becase they're a little quieter and good just to sit and listen to. All of the songs are awesome on this CD, though. If you like the groups Avalon and ZOEgirl, I think that you will definately like this CD. Get it today!

5.0 out of 5 stars You`ll never get tired of this album!, September 16, 2005
This review is from: Jump5 (Audio CD)
This album rocks! It is Pop/Christian group Jump5`s first album ever! They sound wonderful! These are the singers and dancers that Jump5 is:Chris Fedun,Brittany Hargest,Lesley Moore,Libby Hodges, and Brandon Hargest! The songs on this cd are great! You`ll never get tired of them! Here is a list of all the songs and what I think about them:
1.Spinnin Around-10/10-This song is awesome! It`s Jump5`s first single, and it`s got some great dance moves! You may also want to watch the music video of this song!
2.Virtual Reality-8/10-This song is pretty good! It`s got a nice medium fast rock beat!
3.Change A Heart,Change The World-10/10-This may be the best song on this cd.It`s got a wonderful Christian meaning,with a cool,uptempo beat!
4.The Meaning Of Life-9/10-As some other reviews say, this song is nice to listen to when it`s raining. It`s talks about finding God,and how he is the meaning of life.
5.All I Want-8/10-I don`t listen to this song very often,but when I do,I enjoy it a little.It`s sung mostly by member Libby Hodges,and it`s a good dance song.
6.Wish That I Could Read Your Mind-7/10-This song never pulls me into pushing the repeat buttons like the other songs do,but it`s ok.It`s a good song that I think is talking about how somebody has hurt a friends heart or feelings and you want to appoligize, and you wish that you could read they`re mind, and understand what they hide in their heart.
7.Tell Me Why-10/10-This one is great! It`s very fast, and may become your favorite!
8.I Belong To You-8/10-This song is neat. It`s got a medium fast beat, like Virtual Reality, except more calm and not as jumpy and dancy.
9.Love Ya Too Much-5/10-Blech!I don`t really like this one,but you might.
10.When I Say Your Name-9/10-Cool!You`ll probably love this one! It`s pretty fast!
11.Start Jumpin(*Bonus Song*)-10/10-I might concider this as J5`s theme song! It`s EXTREMELY fast and dancy! It`s the last fast song on the cd,cause the next song is slow!
12.God Bless The U.S.A.(*Bonus Song*)-10/10-One word:BEAUTIFUL!Jump5 put a wonder world into this song, and it`s one of the best versions i`ve ever heard! Also see the music video of this song! You can watch it.

5.0 out of 5 stars WHO rocks the house? That's right, Jump 5 rocks the house!, August 28, 2002
This review is from: Jump5 (Audio CD)
Jump 5 consists of five teenagers; Brittany: 14, Libby: 13, Lesley: 13, Chris: 16, and Brandon: 14. They are great performers and although they are a Christian band, you wouldn't know it unless someone told you. Their music is awesome, and it's great pop. They are GREAT live performers, I saw them at a concert and they were amazing. Their first debut Self-Titled Cd is a SMASH HIT! And here are the songs:

Spinnin' Around - 3:39 - Grade: A
This is their first single and it's really good. It's a song about love but their enthusiasm and the lyrics cover it up a little. It's a really upbeat, fun song. Their voices are very good in this song. After the second chorus they have sort of a rap/R&B thing going on, it's pretty cool. This is one of my favorites.

Virtual Reality - 3:31 - Grade: A+
I love this song, it's my favorite song off the album. It goes beyond the lines of pop, it's more pop with some R&B in it. I like in the beginning where they have the special effect sounds going on. The music is really, really cool. It's made for the song. It should have been a single. It's an awesome song.

Change A Heart, Change The World - 4:22 - Grade: C
I gave this song a C because it's an AVERAGE song. It's not very good, but it's not bad at all. It's four out of five of the Jump 5 kids' favorite song on the album, though which kind of confused me. This song really, really slowly grows on you, but I mean slowly. I've been listening to this forever and finally, when their second album comes out, I start liking it. Their voices are really good, but it's still just an average song.

The Meaning Of Life - 3:41 - Grade: B
The lyrics of this song are very well written. "I Was trying to find the meaning of life, Someone told me I was looking for you" This is probably the song that features both boys and girls mostly. A lot of the song features just the girls and a little bit of the boys or vise versa but they both have a big part in this song. I like it a lot

All I Want - 3:22 - Grade: B+
I really like the music in this song. I also like in the beginning where they go: Who rocks the house? We say that Jump 5 rocks the house and when Jump 5 rocks the house they rock it all the way down!" It's really cool how they mix it into the chorus too. Don't skip over this one!

Wish That I Could Read Your Mind - 3:49 - Grade: B+
Here's the first slow song on the album. It's not really slow, but it is slow. I like the lyrics a lot. A LOT. It's another one of my favorites. Their voices don't appear as outstanding in this one, and it's a shame but I really still like it a lot. It sounds like they were really tired while they were performing it. But listen to it! It rocks!

Tell Me Why - 3:08 - Grade: A+
Here's my second favorite. At first this was my favorite, then back to Virtual Reality, this is tight competition with Virtual Reality. I like the "Heyyyyy yeah yeah yeah yeah" in the beginning. The chorus is the definite standout though. NEVER SKIP OVER IT!
"Tell Me Why,
What Have I Done?
I Got You
Now You'll Always Be The One
Tell Me How
Can This Be True
I'm With you
Now I really wanna Know
Tell Me Why"

I Belong To You - 3:28 - Grade: B+
I like this song a lot. Everything about it is just so...fun! It's not a really fast song, but it's a good dance song. It's a better listening song, though. I Like at the end of the chorus where they go: "And IIII belooong To youu" Just the way they say it makes it the standout of the chorus. It could have very easily have been a single of theirs.

Love Ya Too Much - 3:38 - Grade: A-
This is a sad song, and it's also slow. What I think is weird is that I gave this an A- and the lyrics are poorly written. Whoever wrote it was forcing, and SERIOUSLY forcing rhymes, a lot of them too. It must be the music and how they sing it. Just something about this song captures my attention.

When I Say your Name - 3:35 - Grade:
"When I Say Your Name, You know My heart feels Lighter...." I love this song, it's so fun, It's a definite party song. They should have put the "Who Rocks The House, We Say that Jump 5 Rocks the House, and when Jump 5 rocks the house, we rock it ALL THE WAY DOWN" from All I Want into the beginning of this song. The chorus is so fun and it makes people want to dance. It's a really, fun song and that's what Jump 5 brings. They bring Fun songs! They prove it with this one!

Bonus:

God Bless The U.S.A. - 3: 20 - Grade: A+
This is Jump 5's second single, and for some reason they decided not to put it on the U.S. album, that was a BIG mistake. This is seriously one of my favorite songs. It's played all the time On Radio Disney and it's just amazing! It's a slow song but this has to be one of my favorite slow songs ever. It's not a really slow slow song, just kinda inbetween. The music video is really cool, also. The song is about September 11th and how the Jump 5 Teens are saying how proud they are to be in America where they know they're free and remembering Jesus for dying for all of us. You have to find a way to listen to it! You won't regret it!
