Conceptually, the activities are excellent in this multiple subject program. Letters are sounded out and assembled in phonics activities, objects are added and subtracted in concrete fashion in a numbers game, and a flower garden is used as a basis for a sequencing activity. The drawing and music sections are both excellent, although in these pleasant activities, the verbal feedback from the characters is a distraction. Kids earn carrots as rewards which can be turned in for rides in a hot air balloon. Children take a short preferences quiz at the beginning of the game which results in customized activities, though this feature didn't seem to be working in the early version we looked at. Even without this feature, the activities are solid.

Loaded with arcade action, players will love zipping around colorful landscapes in a race against time to collect scattered treasures in the King's Castle, Jungle Adventure, Pirate's Isle, Candy Land, and Sports Town. Players can compete against their JumpStart pal or play cooperatively with a friend in two-player mode, and collect racing-cup trophies with each race they win.

Very good graphics, color, and animation. But has only 640 by 480 resolution and doesn't fill up a screen set for 800 by 600 or larger. Goes through a long list of credits when you exit the program. I expected something like the LeapFrog Quantum Workbook made into software, but this is not as good IMHO. Don't think a 4 year old could operate the software without help from an adult.

MY DAUGHTER IS 4 YEARS OLD AND I BOUGHT THIS FOR HER ON HER BIRTHDAY AND SHE HAS EXCELLED SO MUCH IN PRESCHOOL THAT THEY ARE HAVING HER HELP THE OTHER CHILDREN IN TEACHING THEM !...
