I bought this item for a friend who is a drummer in a band. He got a kick out of it when he opened the present, and when we saw him last he was playing with it, so I think it's a hit! He's an adult, so I can't rate an educational value. It's too new to determine if it's durable or not. The seller was excellent - the pen came in great condition within 3 days of ordering.

I purchased for my sons. My oldest is a drummer and youngest son has to do everything his big brother does. They have both enjoyed the Drum Pens but it can be a bit noisy at times. A great novelty gift.
