Well, got this today, not bad. I wasn't paying attention and thought there was a CD included, there isn't.
The book is 6 3/4 x 10 1/2 Lots of chord patterns and strum suggestions. The songs include; Bali Ha'I The Ballad of Gilligan's Isle Beyond The Sea Brazil Brown Eyed Girl Day-O (The Banana Boat Song) Don't Worry Be Happy Enjoy Yourself (It's Later Than You Think) The Girl From Ipanema Hanalei Moon I Can See Clearly Now I'm Carrying A Tiki Torch For You In A Little Hula Heaven Jamaica Farewell Keep Your Eyes On The Hands Limbo Rock The Magic Islands Margaritaville Marianne (All Day, All Night, Marianne) The Moon of Manakoora Now Is The Hour (Maori Farewell Song) On and On (Down in Jamaica (Stephen Bishop)) On A Slow Boat To China One Note Samba (Samba Du Uma Nota So) Poinciana (Song Of The Tree) Samba Ba Song of the Islands Sway (Quien Sera) Three Little Birds (Bob Marley) Volcano (Jimmy Buffett) Yellow Bird Would like to have had a CD to hear the songs on the Uke, but I'm sure after the RIAA got their cut, the book would cost 100s of dollars. :|

Lots of good old songs for the summer. Loads of fun to play. Some songs are easy enough for a rank beginner. Others may take a bit of practice, but are do-able. The only thing that would make this better is a CD to play along with. This is a must have book in any uke players colection.

missing full complement & expression of ukulele playing chords,
By Sommerday (Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jumpin' Jim's Ukulele Island: 31 Tropical Tunes Arranged for Uke (Fretted) (Paperback)
The chords selected by Jim were overly simplistic. For example, I used the internet to find same songs such as the Day-O (banana boat song) where Jim uses only 2 chords. I find that song on the internet using 4 chords which sounds more interesting when played (versus 2 chords). Using only 2 chords almost sounds monotone when played. I now look for songs with guitar chords and adapt them to my new ukulele, using a ukulele chord chart.
