Amazing Debut!,
By Jazz Lover (CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jumpin' at the Border (Audio CD)
This is jazz guitarist Josh Workman's debut as a bandleader, and what a debut it is! Workman is a musician of enormous talent and shines on every single song on this recording. The bop tunes are swingin', the Brazilian tunes gorgeous and the gypsy-jazz selections (particularly "Kali Sara") are just as brilliantly executed as any Django-inspired recordings I've ever heard. If this CD is any indication of what's to come, this guitar player has a LONG and successful career ahead of him!

One to listen to over and over,
By The weed guy (Iowa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jumpin' at the Border (Audio CD)
I bought this when it first came out and have been waiting for another from this really fine guitar player. The fare is varied and without exception done to a turn. He has a style and tone of his own and unerring taste in tunes. Just take this and put it in the car CD player and listen to it over and over. Let's hear some more.
