Prog Music Making a Comeback,
By
This review is from: Jumping From Springboards (Audio CD)
As people get sick and tired of three-chord songs, this masterful album propels to the forefront of rock'n'prog fans an amazing array of styles and texture. Aloisio Campelo's MIDI guitar solos, fuzzy here, with a Bandoneon twist there and what not, puts him already on the short list of the top axe-grinders - no pun intended - in his native Brazil. The influences are all there, lots of Genesis, Marillion, Fish, and also a lot of nuanced Bossa vocalise by Patricia entertwined with hollow-body guitar solos. I urge every reader of this review to immediately pruchase this CD. It will be on your car tray for a long, long time.....

2003's Best Buy,

Brazilian people would hardly know that there are such good Prog Bands from there, like Eclipse. The melodies are wonderful, the voices match the music style in a perfect way and, combined to the complex drum grooves and bass lines, it takes you into a mental trip. 2003's best buy, in my opinion. |
