Our older children used this series and now our youngest is enjoying them. These are still our favorites of the many workbooks available. I like that the instructions are clear with puzzles, characters and challenges making the material fun. Our kids love filling up the sticker charts as they complete sections. The Jumbo Workbooks cover a broad range of skills and everything is in one easily-kept-track-of book, which I appreciate. When the book is complete (which takes a number of months) we celebrate with cake and candles!

I had purchased this book for my 6 year old son. I wanted to encourage brain power through the summer months. This is great for afternoons that are too hot to play outside. I love the pull-out pages. I pulled all the levels out and grouped them together for "level" books. He completes one level in about a week or so working at his own pace. I read over the instructions with him on each page and make sure he understand what he is doing. Fabulous book for some parent/child time!

My six-year-old sister (Rhiannon) is in the 1st grade and she is having a little trouble with her math skills. I recommend this book as a tutor to help her out in all the second grade subjects. I bet others will treasure this workbook as an aid to help out their child aged six through nine either in 1st grade or 2nd grade. When I first browsed its pages, I found out that CJ and Edison loved having adventures with help from children working hard and earning reward stickers for their hard work, just like earning reward pieces for carnival rides in Jumpstart Artist. Of all the books I have read and found really cool, adventurous, or even funny, this workbook is the best!

I notice that all books in this series share their reviews. This one is for the 2nd grade book. It was a great ride for my child. He likes the activities and learned a lot in the process. The colorful pictures and rewards attracted his attention. He seldom does anything for that long. Maybe from 2nd grade, I feel such activities should be consolidated with some curriculum material (such as the weekly topics at Beestar.org). The two sides combined make a solid, systematic learning. As an interest-provoking activity book, this one does a fine job.

An excellent book! Easy to read, easy to understand, perfect for independent study. We use this at the heart of homeschooling--after getting hooked on the pre-k version. I only wish they had a longer series.

My daughter is very interested in workbooks that teach her a variety of skills. This workbook is great; you can work at your own pace, you earn stickers and rewards as you go along, and it teaches reading as well as math skills, with lots of fun activities along the way. At the end, you earn stickers and rewards that eventually complete a certificate. IT's a great way to get ready for 2nd grade, and to use throughout the summer and school yr. too. SHe brings it along in the car and to her grandmothers and is very enthusiastic about learning because of it. I highly recommmend this and others in the "Jumpstart" Series of books and cd's.

I oredered this book on Aug. 5, 2005, but till now, Sep. 7, 2005 I didn't receive it. How can I write a review of this book?
