5.0 out of 5 stars More good Owl City
This is Owl City's Freshman album but I don't think anybody will find it unless they already like Owl City's other albums. Which is somewhat unfortunate because it's good music all on its own. This album seems to be a bit more synth-heavy, which may be why it wasn't until the second or third album that more people started noticing. By far, my favorite on this is Hello...

2.0 out of 5 stars Feels like the writing was rushed. Music doesn't fit lyrics.
The tracks are good music, individually. However each is very similar to the others and the lyrics are not as witty and clever as in Sky Sailing or Ocean Eyes. It feels as if he was rushed to put tracks down to get the album released.

5.0 out of 5 stars More good Owl City, September 12, 2009

This is Owl City's Freshman album but I don't think anybody will find it unless they already like Owl City's other albums. Which is somewhat unfortunate because it's good music all on its own. This album seems to be a bit more synth-heavy, which may be why it wasn't until the second or third album that more people started noticing. By far, my favorite on this is Hello Seattle, which also happens to be on Ocean Eyes. This recording of Hello Seattle seems a bit more mellow, at the cost of being maybe a bit more muffled but surprisingly a little bit less synthy. It's a difference of two years of practicing his mastering skills. I'll stick with this recording as my favorite, but unless you listen to them back-to-back as I just did you probably won't notice much of a difference.

If you're not sure whether or not you'll like Owl City, I'd recommend starting with one of the other albums and then come back and get this one for five more songs if you like the sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD, definitely worth 6 bucks, June 14, 2009
This review is from: Of June (Audio CD)
I love his voice, and all the melodies to the songs are very catchy. If you like one song by Owl City, I don't see how you couldn't like them all. If you don't like a couple of his songs, then you probably won't like most of them. 5 stars for anything by Owl City, check out all of his music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Owl City Of June, September 2, 2009
This review is from: Of June (Audio CD)
After hearing Owl City on Itunes, and listening to Adam Young I liked what I heard. Electric Pop with toe taping beats, interesting lyrics. I heard more, then I bought all of the albums. They are just what I expected.

Owl City's songs have a light, funky beat that lifts one's soul and puts a smile on one;s face. Imagery in the lyrics changes one's outlook on life to a happy, hopefulness that gives one to face their problems with courage. This album, Of June, features 7 full-length songs:

01 - Swimming in Miami
02 - Captains and Cruise Ships
03 - Designer Skyline
04 - Panda Bear
05 - The Airway
06 - Fuzzy Blue Lights
07 - Hello Seattle

Anyone with a broad taste in pure music would love this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Owl City, April 27, 2011

I bought both of the other albums that Owl City put out after hearing part of Ocean Eyes at an event a while back. It sounded like an up and coming artist and I have no problem supporting them. I read somewhere that it's actually one person doing all of the instrumental parts of the recording, though I don't know that this is true. In any case it's a nice soft alternative group similar to Frou Frou and the like. I recommend it for anyone who's a modern alternative or easy listing fan. Youtube "Owl City" and decide if they're up your ally.

I first heard Owl City's "Ocean Eyes" CD, so when I saw this available I bought it immediately.
It is older than "Ocean Eyes" (2009), and only has 7 tracks, but it's got the same great sound and I was not disappointed. I would recommend this to anyone who has heard "Ocean Eyes." If you liked that CD you will like this one for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!, July 10, 2010

This album may be short, but good things come in small packages! Classic Owl City. Adam Young is a very gifted musician. His songs have a sort of upbeat innocence that just makes any listener smile... even on a bad day. Kind of takes you back to when you were ten years old watching cloud shapes go by with your best friend. I highly recommend this album, and ALL albums by Owl City.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad For An Early Effort, February 1, 2010

A few stand out tracks ("Swimming In Miami" and "Designer Skyline"), but most of this is filler, at least if you've already heard Owl City's album Ocean Eyes (remember, this is his early work). If you're a huge fan of Owl City like myself, it's worth the buy for extra music and to see how far he's come as an artist. If you're not really a fan, go buy Ocean Eyes FIRST.
