I mistakenly clipped a label from a rayon scarf too closely, caught some fabric in the cut. There's nothing to sew, just the edge. So I researched what crafters, quilters, and such folk use to stop fraying without bulk. This product was mentioned several times. The size is small compared to a competitor's product--but I didnt need a large amount, only enough for an inch. I followed the advice to just make a tiny hole with a needle into the tube top, and then drop a little of the fluid onto a darning needle eye (away from the fabric over a paper towel mask to protect the rest of the fabric), in order to apply. It was easy to do, and it was absorbed quickly without a noticeable change in color or texture, and dried fast. I may apply it one more time, after laundering, but for now it seems the edge is secure, and the scarf was worth the few extra dollars it took to make it useable. I'm sure now that I have it, it will work on all sorts of things that fray, like button holes, or dress edges cut too close to seams.

I recently read about Fray Block and used it last week for a large project. It was easy to control the application, worked great, and I'm planning to use it again. Fray Check is also good, but you get half as much for the same price. I purchased mine locally at Joann's Fabrics for $3.99. I decided to check Amazon's prices to save a trip to the store. Unfortunately, the listings here are way over-priced. I will go back to the store to buy more, and with a coupon.

I make fiber art including quilting with unconventional materials. This is by far the superior product to stop edges from fraying. It's a liquid and I just pour a little in a paper catsup cup and use a disposable miniature microfiber applicator for precision placement.

This is the best fray block I have ever found. It stops the fraying, dries relatively clear and it does not get stiff when its dry

One of the most frustrating aspects of doing any kind of needle work for me has always been the slow degrading of the edges of fabric I've been working on. This product definitely halts that, at least on the adia cloth I've so far used it on.

It does come out quite quickly from the tube and I probably use more than I need to, but oh well!

Since I do a lot of applique and not all fabrics are the same, the Fray Block takes care of those more loosely woven fabrics that tend to fray when turning edges under.

I bought this to prevent some fraying on a well used toy puppy made of silk. I based this on a previous user who said this would work. My experience is different though. I tested the Fray Block on scrap silk and it did not dry clear. It left a long streak on the material. I would not recommend this product for silk. I also used it on a different project where I had attached a cotton blend material to some felt. I added the Fray Block along the edge of the cotton which worked fine but it left white residue on the felt. So basically it did not work on either of my two projects. It did however dry soft and flexible.

Its a good buy for the price. Can use it on fabric or lace wigs. I would recommend it to anyone.
