I purchased this mat because it was the perfect size to trim my slacks for hemming and for ironing down the cuffs. And it also fits into my sewing machine carrier which was a definate plus. But the handle curled upwards towards the pressing side and scratched the surface of my iron and melted...what a mess. Also it is not self healing after a few cuts the surface has became rough and unusable. It snagged the fabric and dulled the blade of my cutter. I really wouldn't recommend it because it only lasted through a few cuts.

I bought this not as a stand alone cutting mat, but as a ironing surface on my cutting table and it is great for that. It's really handy and it protects my mats. It's just the right size and I like the measurements on the cover. It was a good value for the money.

This board is what any experienced sewer would expect. You can iron and pin on one side and use your rotary cutter on the other. Good for easy portability to a class or to use in a small Sewing area.

I needed a Quilter's Cut'n Press as I had used my old one so much the fabric wore out from ironing so much. It did't upset me that my old one wore out I had only had it for 10+ years. If you are in a small sewing space these are wonderful.

I have a limited amount of space for my quilting, so I have to constantly go back and forth between setting up my cutting board, then taking it down to set up the sewing machine, then getting up to go to the ironing board. I can set up the Cut'n Press next to my machine and have it right at hand when I need to quickly press a seam, or by flipping it over quickly make a cut. I also purchased a travel steam iron to use with the Cut'n Press and it's a great set up. I still use my full-size iron and ironing board when I have a big area to press, but this is a great space-saver and saves a lot of getting up and down.

I take a quilting project with me when we travel. This cutting/pressing mat is great for traveling, since it fits into my machine case perfectly!!

I have already used one of these. The big problem is that if it gets wet, the board underneath the padding can stain the top.
