Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Dance your way through the jungle, both as and with characters from Disney's beloved film. This bundle contains both the game The Jungle Book: Rhythm n' Groove and the game pad, allowing you to control your character by performing the correct dance steps. You can groove as Mowgli, Baloo, or King Louie. There are nine environments, and 15 minutes of 3-D cinematic sequencing. Enjoy music and songs from the film, including "I Wanna Be Like You" and "Bare Necessities." Choose a dance partner for the multiplayer game.

The bare necessities, the simple bare necessities--forget about your worries and your strife. OK, if you like to sing along to your favorite Disney movies, you'll likely want to tap your feet to them, too. That fun compulsion--tapping to the beat of the music and singing along to the songs of The Jungle Book--is the simple premise behind Jungle Book Rhythm 'n' Groove. With the added bonus of a dance mat, this game is a hoot.

The dance mat is laid out just like the PlayStation controller, and the idea is to follow the instructions thrown at you from the screen, and step in time with the beat. A mistimed step costs you a point, and once you're down enough points, Molgi falls over. If you cause him to fall over three times, you lose the level.

With nine songs from the movie to sing, including titles like "Join the Ranks," "I Wanna Be Like You," and, of course, "The Bare Necessities," the idea is to sing along and tap to the tunes. Special combos help you out by padding your point total, thus giving you a little margin for future mistakes.

Of course, for those among us who don't have the rhythm, there are a number of difficulty levels, ranging from easy, which is actually very easy, to normal, which takes a few taps to get used to. Level difficulties increase from there to hard, expert, and crazy. The latter involves your hand literally jumping around the controller, or your feet moving all over the dance mat.

This is a great game, and certainly a good complement to the Disney movie--especially so with the included dance mat. --Stuart Miles

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for all ages, which is rare, February 7, 2001

This fantastic game has one of the best learning curves I've seen. At its easiest setting it's a hoot for kids as young as four, but after they go to bed mom and dad can ramp it up to the harder settings and find it very challenging--and tremendous fun. The songs are catchy, the graphics perfectly adequate and the variety of game play is refreshing.

It's a lot more fun than Parappa the Rappa, which we found just too hard, and the mat really adds a physical dimension that most games lack. Do it right, and it's actually a quite sweaty workout!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun, December 19, 2000

I have been waiting ages for a game to come out like this for the home market. After playing something similar to this on the arcade while on holiday i have been longing to play something like it again, and thanks to Sony i can. Although Jungle Book isnt the game that i played in the arcade it is just as good. You have to dance your way through different levels featuring different songs from the Jungle Book film. There are various difficulty levels so those who fancy their chances can show off to all of their mates. This game is a must have for any party where everyone whants to have something that will create alot of fun, but create no mess.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music game!, April 10, 2003

This is a seriously fun and seriously addictive game. (Strongly recommended with the dance mat, otherwise it's merely amusing). I'm a big Jungle Book fan and this game really gets the spirit. The new songs are even better than the originals ("We are the Vultures" or "Bananas in the Coconut Tree" are prime examples). The karaoke mode alone is worth the price... more fun than a barrel of monkeys!
