5.0 out of 5 stars Love at first sight
I bought this toy (the ladybug version) for my daughter when she was about 5 months old because she grabbed it off the shelf and began pounding on it like a madbaby. I was in a department store at the time, and I thought, "Great! something to keep her occupied." Well, it occupied her so much (for 2 hours) that I kind of had to buy it on my way out. I have no regrets...

3.0 out of 5 stars Jungle Jamboree Tapsy Turtle
I was disappointed with the product. From the description, I thought the beads would easily move and attract the eye. This does not happen like the reveiw from the manufacturer states. It is constructed well, and every child is different, but my four grandchildren quickly put this toy aside.

I have no regrets.

The belly of the drum appears to be on a spring and is loaded with electrostatically charged beads that wiggle around with the slightest movement. The result is an impressively loud noise when struck (not too loud and not too annoying). The wiggling beads encourage more banging...as if banging by itself weren't enough fun!

My only complaint is that the strings attached to the mallots aren't too terribly long and greatly restrict a child's movement. I may end up clipping the strings in the future, but in the mean time, my daughter is quite happy tapping out rhythms on her drum.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cute but not fun, September 26, 2008

I will say it looks good;however, the kids seem to loose interest quickly. Maybe if a very young one had a chance fun would be had. As far as my little one no. The string on the drum sticks are far too short even for little ones.
