This is the seaquil to Desert Strike, which is a birds eye view game where you are piloting a helicopter on 40 missions through 7 areas of South America. You are on more difficult and complex missions than Desert Strike, such as capturing mirrors on trucks and taking them to a cargo ship to be taken away. Then there are still the simple missions of destroying enemy complexes with guns, hydras and heckfire missiles! There are even new vehicles to take control of, not just the apache helicopter. You can now take control of a hovercraft and a B1 bomber to destroy enemies in a whole new way! One big downfall is that the game is very slow moving!

I had a hard time making a transition from Desert Strike to Jungle Strike due to the changes in the controls. The game progressively got better that I liked the graphics better, the longer and more interesting missions, and the fact that there are more missions than Desert Strike. It is a rather a mixed balance of difficulty: some are easy, some are medium, and some are quite hard, especially the first two levels and level 9. My biggest gripe of the game is how the Stealth fighter is being controlled. I hate that plane, and I was much more content with the copter finishing that mission. The motorboat was terrible as well because when I ride it fast to grab fuel or ammo or armor, it crashes to it. So, I must go slow and make sure it doesn't crash. The best alternative vehicle of the game turned out to be the bike which was cool to ride. Too bad I didn't get to use it too much. That's an idea if EA wanted to make another game similar to Jungle Strike. Maybe the hardest level of any is level 9 not because of the tanks but of what happens after I blow up the two armored vans and trying to kill the first oil tanker of sixth mission. Blowing up the armored vans isn't hard, but it gets so annoying that I can really unleash hell on them, but the person inside of it ends up dead under the continued, unrestrained barrage of fire, and then I got to start all over again. Finally, the first oil tanker is really, really hard to kill compared to the other three. It took me so many tries to get it right, and I've finally figured it out. What you should do is: fly up north away from sight of the tanker and then take the road (the left lane of the 2 lane) southwest leading to the tanker. At midway of that road, start firing the guns and alternate back and forth on hold and release to make sure the guns will finally aim at the tanker. As soon as it aims to there, get to behind the tanker as close as possible as soon as possible. Once behind that, keep firing the guns constantly and press for hydra as rapidly as possible no matter how fast as you can press it. It is going to take at least 40 hydras to do it; as soon as it reaches for the gate, unleash all the helis on it as fast as you can and then get back to hydras. It will work, but it's really the hardest part of the game. The other three tankers are quite easy; lot of guns and up to 10 hydras will do the trick and finishing them off before they reach for the gates will happen. All in all, Jungle Strike is a great game and is worthy of playing.
