5.0 out of 5 stars A favorite!
Previous person actually said this should be banned!? This toy is a favorite in my house! Parrot owners should know better than to buy a toy that could potentially be dangerous to their size parrot. "Not thinking they could get their head inside" is no reason to blame the toy. My eclectus parrots love this one! I highly recommend it for medium and large parrots!

1.0 out of 5 stars Potentially Dangerous Toy
My Quaker Parrot, Wel, absolutely loves his small (3 inch wide) pyramid toy like the one above, but today I am putting it in the trash. Why? Just a few minutes ago I went into my bathroom, and while I was washing my hands before taking my contacts out, I heard Wel make a weird chirp unlike what he usually makes when he hears me. Wondering what could make him make that...

1.0 out of 5 stars Potentially Dangerous Toy, November 26, 2009

My Quaker Parrot, Wel, absolutely loves his small (3 inch wide) pyramid toy like the one above, but today I am putting it in the trash. Why? Just a few minutes ago I went into my bathroom, and while I was washing my hands before taking my contacts out, I heard Wel make a weird chirp unlike what he usually makes when he hears me. Wondering what could make him make that noise, I went to check on him. At first It just looked like he was playing with the toy, but then I realized that not only was his head inside one of the square holes, (we previously thought his head was too big to fit into the holes) but he was also hanging from his head. I rushed over to the cage and held him and the toy so that it wouldn't strangle him. After some maneuvering I got his head from the hole and he was unharmed. If I hadn't come to take my contacts out I don't know what would have happened to Wel. This toy should not be used with birds who's heads could possibly fit into the holes and get stuck, and should at least have a warning on the packaging if not banned.
