5.0 out of 5 stars Junie B - B for Bestest
This is another delightful foray into the mind of the spunky, sparky Junie. She makes reading fun for kids and grownups - boys AND girls! 1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe we are the only ones who don't like these books.
My 7 year old (who is an avid reader) does not like JBJ books. She has a family member who likes to give them to her as gifts, and she flips through a few pages, and then is not interested. The Magic Treehouse series is more her speed. I am glad, because the language and grammar in these books is poor.

This is another delightful foray into the mind of the spunky, sparky Junie. She makes reading fun for kids and grownups - boys AND girls! Actually, far from contributing to bad English I have observed by reading these VERY popular books aloud at school to students in 2nd grade, her grammatical mistakes draw good natured groans and corrections called out in unison. The kids catch them and they enjoy her antics, because she's over the top and a funny goofball, but everybody can relate to her experiences. It may be true that a struggling reader should have better material to work with but could very much still enjoy & benefit from being read to with emphasis whenever she says something "too-Junie".

5.0 out of 5 stars And She's Back!, March 24, 2007
I pretended to be excited about the release of the next Junie B. Jones book because my ten year old daughter still loves this series. But secretly, I'm every bit as thrilled as she is when a new title comes out! I adore Junie B. Jones, and I suspect that Barbara Park writes these books for adults just as much as she does for the kids.

This time Junie B. and her classmates are invited to rich Lucille's house for an Easter egg hunt. Right away things get interesting as Lucille announces that there will be a special golden egg that will win the finder a swim date with Lucille in her family's new pool! Time is spent deciding what to wear (we learn that there are Jewish clothes in this book), and finally the day arrives. In her own undaunted style, Junie B. attends the party, rekindles her "friendship" with Lucille's Nanna, becomes the Easter bunny, and finds a way to keep bossy May from discovering the golden egg. What more could anyone want from a book?

Always funny, this book once again perfectly captures the voice of a first grader. I am at a loss as to how Barbara Park does it so well--perhaps she's just remembered better than the rest of us how it felt to be so enthusiastic and joyful about everything. This is another outstanding entry in the series. Highly recommended for kids of all ages!

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Laughing, February 13, 2007
We always love reading the Junie B. Jones books. They are our favorite books to read. I think this is one of the funniest books of the series. We were more excited about the release of this book than any of the other books. My daughter received a Make a Wish and wanted to meet Barbara Park and she also dedicated this book to her. Barbara was kind enough to send it early so we were able to read it a few weeks ago. In the dedication it reads "I hope this makes you laugh and laugh." We are reading it for the second time and we are still laughing. You will not be disappointed. One of our favorite characters is the return of Lucille's richie nanna. She is so funny. Junie B. surprised us at the end. We highly reccomend this book.

The entire Junie B. Jones collection is fantastic. We read them out loud to all five of our kids (ranging from 4-10). They all love them.

This latest story is no exception!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Hop-a-long" Junie B., February 23, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As the biggest (and maybe oldest?) Junie B. fan, I gotta give this one a big thumbs up! Park has done it again! Poor Junie B. - she sure doesn't look happy in that Bunny Suit - sort of reminds me of "Ralphie" in the Christmas Story...
Lucille is as "fluffery" as ever in this funny adventure of the Easter Egg Hunt. I loved Park's descriptions of the whole Christian/Jewish outfit thing. How funny! Junie B. makes me laugh, as always! Thank you and Barbara, please keep the Junie B.'s hopping (and coming!)!! I love them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, August 18, 2011

These books are really great and have inspired my daughter to read. These latter books are even better they teach lessons of values. My daughter is 9 years old and can't put these books down once she starts them. She used to have problems with reading but since she found the Junie B Jones series, she has become a reader by choice. I highly recommend these books to any parents of a young girl at the beginning to intermediate reading level.

My daughter loved this whole series! This is the first series that she has been able to read completely. I would recommend this series to any parent who is trying to get their kids to read more.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Granddaugher Loved It!, November 23, 2010

This review is from: Junie B., First Grader: Dumb Bunny (Book 27) (Paperback)
My 7 year old granddaughter just loves this series of books and was so excited to get several of them for her birthday!!! Just a tip to some fellow nanas. Find something your grandchildren are interested in reading and keep them stocked up. Hopefully we can help overturn the trend of kids graduating who can't read. Reading just has to be an adventure for kids and they will want to read. My granddaughter loves the Junie B series. When I was a kid it was the Raggedy Ann and Andy series.
