5.0 out of 5 stars This remarkable and humorous sides of Junie are delightful!
I thought this book was excellent. The protagonist, Junie is portrayed as a kindergardener with attitude. She has a humorous side and a serious side that is would be appealing to children. The author's style is remarkable. The sentences are short and simple to understand. I felt sorry for Junie when she was at "richie nana's" house, because she was afraid...

1.0 out of 5 stars Atrocious
I thought it would be fun to read a book to my 5 year old from a kindergarten perspective. I was wrong...The grammar is literally unreadable it is so poor. My 2 year old speaks more eloquently than Junie, the main character. Not only do I not want my daughter to learn improper English, I would not want her modeling any of Junie's behaviors. Calling her friend's...

The author's style is remarkable. The sentences are short and simple to understand. I felt sorry for Junie when she was at "richie nana's" house, because she was afraid to make a mess when doing anything. Plus, she was made to feel as an outsider that wasn't allowed to play as a young child does.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for the little ones..., May 31, 2002
My daughter is 6 and I read her Junie B. Jones books even when she's not around. Junie B. and my daughter are just alike, especially with the "yeah, like only..." I can't wait to own ALL the books! They're great for a rainy, big people's, veg-out day - or when you just need a good laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Me and my kid loves Junie B. Bad grammar and all., July 18, 2000
By A Customer
My daughter love Junie B. And she hasn't started hanging out at the pool hall trying out tailor mades like cigarette fiends just because the writing copies the often (gasp) incorrect grammar of a small child.

Don't worry. There ain't no trouble in River City. Read Junie B with your kids. You'll all have a good time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Junie B. Jones is a Party Animal, January 26, 2000
By
My grandaughter and I read this together out loud and her grandpa and brother started listening and enjoyed it as much as we did. I am going to print out the rules for "staying over" to give to all my nieces and nephews and their parents...we laughed and laughed and read them over and over. It is a good enforcement for the "grass is always greener" and Olivia looks at this nanna in a new light. Lucille's nanna ended up scaring Olivia when she was so picky about everything in her house. We are ordering several more of the books and have called the library asking them to order them for their readers.

4.0 out of 5 stars My 6 and 4 year old boys love it, June 17, 2003
My boys love Junie B! Yeah her grammar isn't perfect and she says some things we may not want our kids to hear, but my boys love these. I find them funny and becasue they are written at my 6 year old's level he really relates. What is most important to me is that the three of us can curl up in bed a read a few chapters each night and if I say it's bed time let's read Jumie B they go get ready with no hassles. As parents we all know that reaction is priceless as is the joy of reading together.

4.0 out of 5 stars "And guess what! I didn't even break anything!", March 11, 2003

Her name is Junie B. Jones. The B. stands for Beatrice. Except, Junie doesn't like Beatrice. She just likes B. That's all.
In this Junie B. Jones story, one of a "million bizillon," Junie and Grace are invited over to Lucille's rich grandmother's house for a sleep over. Junie is beyond excited. She humorously packs her bags and passes the time, just waiting for Lucille's Nana's Cattle Act to come pick her up.
Once she is at Lucille's house, hyper-active Junie doesn't know what to do with herself. She wants to have fun, yet obey her parent's rules for spending the night as a guest.
At dinner, Junie seems to do everything possible to upset Lucille's Nana. Junie's excuses and cover-ups are simply hilarious.
In the end, everything comes to a comic conclusion. A-OK!
To me, the Junie B. Jones series is annoyingly adorable. I think that children from ages 6-10 would enjoy the silly adventures that Junie puts her friends, Lucille and "that" Grace through. I loved this book. I recommend it to any one. I guarantee that they will find Junie a witty, lovable character.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book, April 24, 2002
A Kid's Review
This book is about a girl who might be going to a sleepover at her friend Lucille's house. Junie B. is very happy when she finds out that she can go. My favorite part is when her mother and father tell her the rules that she has to follow in order to go to the sleepover. Read to find out if she has a good time. I would recommend this book to third graders because it is a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Junie B. is great, March 24, 2002

Junie B.'s friend Lucille had a sleepover party, and she can't wait can't wait! Lucille lives in her rich grandmother's mansion. Before her parents would let her go, Junie B. had to learn all the rules of spending the night. Like no running, no head butting and no talking back. Of course Junie B. finds a way to get into trouble.
This was my first Junie B. Jones book and I loved it. The way Barbara Park twists the language around in the book makes it that much more enjoyable to read. The character of Junie B. is very well written and her friends balance out the flow of the book quite nicely. I am sure any girl could find one Junie. B characters that they can relate to.
I think the author's message in writing this story is to have a fun time with your friends but to always be polite and follow the rule or you could get into trouble.
