5.0 out of 5 stars Too Funny!
I read this book the other day with my 6 year Kindergartener and I don't know who laughed harder, me or her! I encourage her love of books and the Junie B. Jones books are a great way for her to transition from picture books to big kid books. I hope new ones come out on a regular basis, because I am sure will read our way through the current books no time at all!

3.0 out of 5 stars Monster! Monster!! Monster!!! NOT
I am 8 years old and Iiked the parts where Junie B Jones kept going into her mom and dads room. This was a fun and easy book for me to read but I think it is for littler kids, not third grade. I also have read Junie B Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus and I liked it more. Katie, Wade Elementary School

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, December 11, 2000
By A Customer
My children and I read such a variety of books that the use of grammar in this book doesn't alarm me at all. If the only books they ever read were Junie B., then I would be a little more concerned. The use of grammar in this book is necessary in order to see things from Junie B.'s perspective. We think Junie B. is hilarious. We laugh so hard together every time we read Junie B. We collect all the Junie B. books. If you like to read and laugh with your child, then I highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Funny!!, September 1, 2005
A Kid's Review
Super Duper Funny!! Junie B. Jones is so funny. I like how she keeps making excuses for not going to bed. I am going to read all of the Junie B. Jones books.

From 5 year old girl
-----

Note from mother:

This book was admittedly very funny. I'm a little concerned about reading them because I think her language (and content) is a little strong. The books say things like stupid and make light about being disruptive, etc., but as a new elementary school student these may be things that my daughter is exposed to anyway. It will be a good opportunity for us to talk about how she behaves and how some of the other children may behave. We will review the STUPID Smelly Bus next and I'll review that one too. By then I'll have a better assesment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Junie B Jones Has a Monster Under Her Bed (#8), April 17, 2004
A Kid's Review
Paulie Allen Puffer tells Junie B that monsters are real, and she believes it! She's scared to go to sleep. How will Junie B get rid of the monster? Read it to find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars " Junie B. can't sleep!", July 10, 2001
By

it was picture day in room nine. and paulie allen puffer has convinced junie b. that there is a monster under everybody's bed."why do you think that mommy's and daddy's sleep together? to keep each other safe from the monster!" paulie allen puffer finally convinced junie b. then to top it off, her best friend, that grace, told her that there really was a monster under her bed! so junie b. decided that her mom could bash it on the head. but when her mom got home she said that there was no such thing as a monster and that she wouldn't bash the monster over the head with the broom. the next day that grace told her that her mom got rid of her monster. she sucked it up in the vacuum cleaner, and then she put the vacuum bag with the monster in it and she compacted it! sooo...... to find out more about this book, go to your local library and check out JUNIE B. JONES HAS A MONSTER UNDER HER BED BY BARBARA PARK ILLUSTRATED BY DENISE BRUNKUS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny!, October 23, 2005
ISBN 0679866973 - This book is riddled with bad grammar, and that's just fine. The narrator is a very young girl and, had the book been full of big words and perfect grammar, the complaint would be that it's ridiculous to think a little girl would write that way - so be prepared to overlook that. It's worth the minor effort. She's in kindergarten, she "talks" like a 5 year old. Lighten up!

Junie B. Jones is a hilarious, hyper bundle of energy and school picture day is no exception. She lectures the cameraman, babbles incessantly and gets the "driver's license" picture everyone dreads. That's overshadowed by the fact that she's come to be informed of the horror that lurks under everyone's bed - a drooling, toe eating, head chomping, invisible-when-you-look-at-it, monster. Getting rid of it is only half the fun.

Junie's childish disregard for her little brother, Ollie, when she kicks him out and takes over his crib is hilariously accurate. Her chatty, exuberant approach to everything is right on target. Don't let the grammar keep you away from this book - read it and laugh out loud. If you're one of those parents who struggles with the grammar issue, use it to your advantage to teach your own child better. Believe me, when your child goes roaring off to school in their first car, Junie's bad grammar is going to make you smile and you'll realize that reading it didn't cripple your kids' intellectual development. She might even be the reason they started enjoying books in the first place!

Junie gets a lot right, but one thing sticks out in my mind - "School pictures is a racket, I think."

5.0 out of 5 stars The Kids? Heck! I'll keep buying them for myself., September 10, 2003
By A Customer
I just bought this book for my 4 year old to read to her instead of having to read another Disney Princess story. This is the first Junie B. Jones story we have ever read. It will not be the last. I laughed so hard that it took a good 5 minutes to recover so I could read more to her. I think my favorite was when she told the teacher "Mrs." that she had nice shoes. My daughter loved the names of Junie B's "friends" especially Philip Johnny Bob, the elephant. It just felt so good NOT to have to read another story about being a PRINCESS. I will keep buying these even if I just read them to myself. I don't remember when I laughed so hard. Excuse me, I need to go back for another good laugh. Buy this book. You won't regret it.
