I love Junie B. Jones books,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake (Junie B. Jones, No. 5) (Paperback)
I like this book because it is very funny. Especially the part when Junie B. practices for the carnival. She practices and practices and the day of the carnival she loses all the games except she won one prize and that was a stupid, dumb comb. That was the worst night of her life.

This review is from: Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake (Junie B. Jones, No. 5) (Paperback)
I am 13 years old, and when my dad started reading Junie B. Jones books to my five-year-old sister, it was just another book. Then, I actually started listening to them. Now, whenever my dad brings home a Junie B. Book, I am right there next to him. They are written to sound exactly like who they portray, a kindergartener. This is a must read for everyone with kids, big and small, in their house. It should be a crime to correct the grammar. (Yucky Blucky Fruitcake is one of the especially good ones.)

I am a 15 year old sophomore in high school, and was just thinking about all the old books I used to love to read, and Junie B. Jones came to mind first. Junie B. Jones, by far, was my favorite childhood series. I read all of the other reviews for this book, and the one-star ratings for its "poor-grammar" and "teaching bad habits" shocked me. I likely read every book in the Junie B. Jones series, and I turned out more than fine. I am now a straight-A student in honors English, and write for a nationally ranked high school newspaper. To all those who say this series teaches poor grammar, I beg the differ. What this series does is it teaches a child a love for reading. I probably went through one of these books a day I loved them so much! From there on, I took the initiative to pick up books because I wanted to, not because my parents told me to.

My daughter does not enjoy reading. However, when she discovered the Junie B. Jones series, she loves them & reads them over & over. Her favorite is the Beauty Shop Guy & this one. They are funny, & enjoyable. However, I will caution that if a child is influenced easily they may not be the best. Junie B. Jones is a lot like Nick's Rugrats--they are always into mischeif, and don't behave the best. She also talks in 3rd person and doesn't have the best grammar. With that said, if taken appropriately as entertainment, they are very funny, you never know what she's going to do next. We love them, but I know a few who do not appreciate them.

Awesome,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Junie B. Jones & The Yucky Blucky Fruit Cake (Junie B. Jones 5, Library Binding) (Library Binding)
Junie B. Jones and The Yucky Blucky Fruit Cake is a great story to read. It is an easy book and at the end you are sure to laugh. Every Junie B. Jones book is a great hit.
The story is about a kinder gardener who thinks she is the best winner in the world. When she challenges her friends to her favorite games that she beats her grampa in. Her best friends beat her and she no longer feels self confident, but she has a time to redeem herself at the fair at her school on Friday night . When she gets to the fair she loses all the games except one The Cake Walk . At the end of this story she finds out that winning is not everything . I think this book is good for kids because, it is easy to read and it's a very funny book.

The Best Book Ever!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake (Junie B. Jones, No. 5) (Paperback)
One of the best book I have read in the past year has to be Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake , by Barbara Park . It Is a marvelous book about a fruitcake she made for the carnival. One of the major reasons I enjoyed this so much is what happened when she went to the carnival. She took the cake home and it was the as hard as a rock. Another reason I found the book to be so wonderful is that is the way Junie B. Jones talks. She talks funny. I like the part when she tells the clown to "Back off". She does not like the clown. Of course my favorite reason for liking this book is she throws a sponge right at the meanie boy's face and said bull's eye. As you can see, Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake, by Barbara Park, was truly my favorite book.

Terrible Series,
This review is from: Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake (Junie B. Jones, No. 5) (Paperback)
I can't imagine more inappropriate reading for a 5-8 year old. These books are loaded with poor grammar, individual words that are too advanced and, on top of that, they encourage bad behavior. Avoid this series.
