5.0 out of 5 stars Junie is as hilarious as ever!
I have read many books out loud to my K-3 students, but I have never seen them so enraptured! They LOVE Junie B.! Junie's observations on life are always hilarious, and Barbara Park should be commended. My class can't get enough of these books. I have recommended them to many teachers, and everyone loves them. I highly reccommend this book to any elementary school...

1.0 out of 5 stars I don't get it
My 1st grader brought this book home from the school library. I don't get the popularity of this series at all. First, it's above a first grade reading level and I believe that's how old Junie B is supposed to be. Next, the grammar is horrible. I understand it's supposed to sound like she wrote it, but I never understand why you want kids to read incorrectly spelled...

5.0 out of 5 stars Junie B. Jones is almost Flower Girl, June 13, 2000

This review is from: Junie B. Jones Is (almost) a Flower Girl (Junie B. Jones, No. 13) (Paperback)
0 Hi, my name is Aleida. I`m 9 years old. I`m i.n the 3rd grade. The name of my book is Junie B. Jones is (almost) a Flower Girl. The author of my book is Barbara Park. It is about Junie being happy to be a flower girl but she found out that another girl is going to be the flower girl. It all started when she was playing in the playground with her friends. Then her mom picked her up. In this story there is Junie B. Jones, Ricardo, Lucille, Grace, Thelma, Mrs. She, Mother, Baby, Aunt Flo, Grandpa Miller, Joe, Daddy, Bo, Philip, Johnny, Bob, Grandma Helen Miller. There are lots of cool things you want to read about in this story.

I think this is a great book. I like this book. I like this book because it was interesting. I would like children to read this book, not just children but everyone. I give this book five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a character!!, October 17, 2002

This review is from: Junie B. Jones Is (almost) a Flower Girl (Junie B. Jones, No. 13) (Paperback)
Junie B. Jones is a wonderful character! My kindergartner came home from school telling me off all the wonderful stories her teacher has been reading. So much, that I finally purchased a few books to find out for myself. She was right! This character is absolutely wonderful and exciting to read about! Even the simplest subject can turn into a humongous ordeal, when it comes to Junie B. Jones!! She will keep you laughing and laughing, and your child (and you!) will read these books over and over again!

I bought this book for my 7 year old, she will be the flower girl in an upcoming wedding, I was looking for a fun reader my child could read, I didn't expect to read it to her, but I enjoyed the story so much that we both looked forward to reading about Junie B., I am now looking to buy some more books. These are short and sweet stories every child (and parent) will enjoy.

My 6 year old daughter just loves the Junie B. Jones stories, and as the person that reads them to her, so do I. The stories are entertaining, easy to read a chapter or 2 a night and the themes are something that a 5 or 6 year old girl can identify with.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fan of Junie B., June 15, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Junie B. Jones Is (almost) a Flower Girl (Junie B. Jones, No. 13) (Paperback)
As a first grade teacher, I have been delighted with the Junie B. Jones series. As read alounds these books provide proficient, as well as emergent and struggling readers, with amusing stories to keep their interest.

At first I was disappointed by the bad grammar Junie B. uses, but I found that it's so easy to use that as a teaching tool. When I read the stories aloud, I read the sentence the way Junie B. says it. Afterwards I ask my students, "Is that really the way she should talk? Could someone please teach Junie B. the correct way to say that?" The children love "being the teacher" for a few moments, and having their grammar reinforced without even realizing it.

I have also used some of the Junie B. books as teaching tools in small group reading. They are great extensions to phonics work. The children are usually forced to phonetically figure out the word. Then I can go back and show them the correct way to spell the word. Of course there are always those instances when we simply can't sound out the word. The Junie B. books usually lend themselves to using context clues as a basis for decoding unfamiliar words also. It's so simple, yet such a valuable experience for them.

I give Barbara Park and the whole Junie B. Jones series five stars. What a creative person she is! She really understands children and has worked her way into our hearts! These books are fun for people of all ages.

As the mother of two girls (13 & 8) I have read every Junie B. Jones book there is. They are so funny I find myself quoting them. Even my teenager still enjoys reading these books. Junie B. Jones is definitely a staple when it comes to children's books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Junie B. Jones books are really good!, June 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Junie B. Jones Is (almost) a Flower Girl (Junie B. Jones, No. 13) (Paperback)
I am six years old and I have four Junie B. Jones books. I read them at school and they are really funny when my teacher reads them because she says them in a lot of expressions. The funniest part in Junie B. Jones Is Almost a Flower Girl is when she takes off her pantyhose and when she tries to grab the flower basket.
