I got this as an accessory for my native american halloween costume. Im a bowhunter myself so im trying not to be too critical on this review. i think that it would be fun for any youngster, but i would say if theyre over 7 years old, look into a real bow cause if you pull the string too far, the bow flexes too much and the string slips right off the ends, making it a spooky for those with a longer draw length. and the arrows dont fly straight at all, ever. so if your kid wants to just shoot arrows everywhere, this is perfect. if theyre anal and want to hit bullseyes all the time.. keep lookin!

As another reviewer noted, the arrow tips are not very effective as suction cups, although our son has managed to get them to stick to the door occasionally. The bow itself is very durable, the arrowheads started to fall off and needed to be reglued (but after that there were no more problems) Our son is almost five, and it's just the right strength of a toy bow for him to be able to play with it in the house without damaging his siblings or breaking any glass - and yet it's strong enough to be fun. The target included can't really be stuck to by the arrows, but he enjoys shooting at it all the same. Overall I would say it's a good solid toy for a 4-5 year old.

I bought this for my 6 year old son. He loves the idea of a bow and arrow, and I though this would be a great way to get him started and to help develop some hand-eye coordination, without getting something too advanced (i.e. dangerous).
The problem is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get this bow to shoot straight. The hard plastic fletching on the arrows catches on the hand grip of the bow. So EVERY time you shoot an arrow, it "kicks" out of straight and goes flopping through the air. In my experience, it is not possible to shoot the arrow with anything resembling accuracy, and I have never been able to shoot an arrow so that the suction cup stuck to anything. So it has actually discouraged my son from trying to aim. Now he just pulls and shoots. Of course he's happy that he can launch something into the air. But I'm not happy at all. Bottom line --- If you are looking for something that is a purely useless playtoy to launch sticks in the air (for about 10 feet), then this might be OK. If you are looking for a toy to teach aiming / accuracy / hand-eye coordination --- Keep looking. This is not the toy for you.
