My daughter is 10 and she loves this bow and arrow set.

I would recommend this set to anyone looking for a fun TOY that actually works, not as a real set for target practice.

And don't expect to have the suction cup arrows to actually stick to anything.

I got this as an accessory for my native american halloween costume. Im a bowhunter myself so im trying not to be too critical on this review. i think that it would be fun for any youngster, but i would say if theyre over 7 years old, look into a real bow cause if you pull the string too far, the bow flexes too much and the string slips right off the ends, making it a spooky for those with a longer draw length. and the arrows dont fly straight at all, ever. so if your kid wants to just shoot arrows everywhere, this is perfect. if theyre anal and want to hit bullseyes all the time.. keep lookin!

I bought this for my 6 year old son. He loves the idea of a bow and arrow, and I though this would be a great way to get him started and to help develop some hand-eye coordination, without getting something too advanced (i.e. dangerous).

The problem is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get this bow to shoot straight. The hard plastic fletching on the arrows catches on the hand grip of the bow. So EVERY time you shoot an arrow, it "kicks" out of straight and goes flopping through the air. In my experience, it is not possible to shoot the arrow with anything resembling accuracy, and I have never been able to shoot an arrow so that the suction cup stuck to anything. So it has actually discouraged my son from trying to aim. Now he just pulls and shoots. Of course he's happy that he can launch something into the air. But I'm not happy at all.

Bottom line --- If you are looking for something that is a purely useless playtoy to launch sticks in the air (for about 10 feet), then this might be OK. If you are looking for a toy to teach aiming / accuracy / hand-eye coordination --- Keep looking. This is not the toy for you.

As another reviewer noted, the arrow tips are not very effective as suction cups, although our son has managed to get them to stick to the door occasionally. The bow itself is very durable, the arrowheads started to fall off and needed to be reglued (but after that there were no more problems) Our son is almost five, and it's just the right strength of a toy bow for him to be able to play with it in the house without damaging his siblings or breaking any glass - and yet it's strong enough to be fun. The target included can't really be stuck to by the arrows, but he enjoys shooting at it all the same. Overall I would say it's a good solid toy for a 4-5 year old.

My 5 year old received this for Christmas, and has repeatedly said that it was his favorite gift. By midday he had mastered how to shoot the arrows accurately. He uses it primarily indoors, and it (so far) hasn't damaged anything or injured anyone! We haven't had trouble with the suction cups coming off of the arrows. Because the suction cups don't stick to the paper target, we taped the target to the outside of a sliding glass door. He shoots the arrows at the door, where they then stick with no trouble. Would definitely recommend this set for young children!!!

An entertaining toy for my 4 yr old grandson who is fascinated by bow & arrows he saw and tried at the "Rennaissance Fair."

This bow and arrow set is sad. It has suction cups on the ends that fell off the first time it was shot. It only contained one target. The arrow went about 10 feet
when shot by my 12 yr old boy who has his own real bow and arrow set, knows what he's doing. I bought this for my 10yr old daughter to join the guys while shooting.
Don't waste your money, get the real thing and teach them how to be safe and use it correctly.

After looking at many different reviews and other bow and arrow sets, we finally decided to purchase this set. I think a previous reviewer said that the bow only shoots about 10 feet. Though it seems like a small distance, when measured, it was actually between 20 and 25 feet. If you would like it to shoot further, you could buy longer arrows, for the bow draw length is far greater than the arrow length. Although the set is not perfectly accurate, we got used to it after a while. The suction cups do not stick to the target, but they stick every time when shot at a dry erase board. Also, if you are unsatisfied with the range of the arrows, which I was originally, you can easily take the string off, and tie it tighter in order to make it shoot further. For us, it now shoots I'd say between 30 and 40 feet. This is the PERFECT bow for role play; if you want to shoot it at others, this is the perfect bow. It shoots a satisfying distance, but as we say, its not extremely "OP" as it can't shoot 200 feet or anything. We bought this bow for role play and it has held up extremely well. The arrows do not hurt whatsoever, and it has provided lots of fun for the entire family. AND IT WAS ONLY FIVE DOLLARS. I was HOPING for something HALF this quality, and I was extremely surprised and happy when I saw how nice the bow was. I would have gladly bought it for $15-20. I hope this review helped, and overall, for its price, it was an amazing purchase.

By the way, we are not 6 year olds, everyone in this family is older than 10, works well for any age.

Bought this for my 11 year old and he is thrilled! Seems sturdy so far. He really likes the way it shoots, how straight and far the arrows go, etc. He also likes the hand hold which has a notch for the arrow to sit on as you shoot it. At first, he didn't think he would like that part, but he does. We have had several toy bows that you buy at like gift shops, and this is bigger and better than those. Definitley still a toy, rather than a real archery set.
