5.0 out of 5 stars The master at work
This is loads better than Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 1. That collection was mostly crap remixed by Junior into even worse crap with the exception of "Wave Song" and "Dream Drums." This one's got the stuff Junior is best known for, his tribal house beats. It also helps that he spins some great songs and his remixes are great. "Come...

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting but unspectacular house mix
Producer and dj Junior Vasquez has been around seemingly forever, and has a fanatically loyal following of fans in the New York area. Based on what I've heard of his work, however, the "Junior" phenomenon must be one of those "you hadda be there" things. His production work is occasionally brilliant, but usually fairly ordinary. And as this 2cd dj...

"Come Together" is a great re-working of the Beatles tune for the dance floor and he has a great time with Club 69's "Drama". All in all this is a great CD to dance to, there's not a bad beat in the bunch but I do hope that Junior releases a compilation of all his greatest remixes that focuses on his ENTIRE career. This double CD set is just like spending a night at Twilo watching Junior spin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, as Junior always is., May 16, 2000
This review is from: Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
This CD is some of Junior's finest spinning. Upon it's debut, this compilation was spun over a TWILO on Saturday night back in 98 and it was pumping back then. This cd shows junior's flawless remixing style and gives a taste of the tribal style that he has mastered. As a resident DJ at Twilo on Saturday evenings, and as the old resident DJ at the once superior Sound Factory, he has withstood the test of time. Those of you who love this cd, look for his imports, they make this cd seem a bit simple. One of his best compilations is Junior live from Germany and London. He pushes the envelope there as he does for us in this beautiful city.

Junior will always keep our city pumping.

5.0 out of 5 stars SUPERIOR, November 5, 1999

This review is from: Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
I bought this set almost a year ago and still listen to it on a regular basis. Disc 1 is a no let down tribal house joyride. Disc 2 would be just as good if not for the irritating voices of Cher and Dolly Parton. Even so, I have to say that out of all my DJ CDs, this is still my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelieveable, June 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
Each CD has its own sound. On disk A, Junior starts out easy and finishes with some killer sounds. Especially the last 4 songs, they always get me dancing. The other disk has more vocals than the first but he keeps it going on finishing up with a phat song, Beautiful Day.

Junior Vasquez is a top Dance DJ! This album has a rare song called "Do it again" which was a Club classic in the late 1990's.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars for the Cher mix alone IS RIGHT!, July 5, 2008
This review is from: Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
I have to agree with the reviewer from 2005 who stated that the album deserves 5 stars for the Cher mix alone. Junior's mix of Cher's version of "The Sun Aint Gonna Shine" is beautiful. 10 years later, it still doesn't fail to give me goosebumps.

There are some great, classic mixes on this CD set. Any Junior/Juniorverse fan should have it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five stars for the Cher mix alone..., June 17, 2005
This review is from: Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
Disc 1 is mostly for the dark, repetitive tribal lovers. As if to prove how boring some of these songs can be, some tracks last for only a minute or two. Basically, I woke up at track 15, and from there to 18, there was something worth dancing to.

Disc 2 gathers some great tracks, including some junior exclusives. The main reason to get this ENTIRE disc is for the brilliant Junior mix of Cher's Sun Ain't Gonna Shine in its full length. I only wish he had done that with some of the other exclusives on here, rather than giving us short versions of say, Deborah Cox, and then giving us near 10 minutes of the commercially available Dolly Parton. And what's worse, you think junior would have clean versions of his own mixes. Who Do You Love and Sun Ain't Gonna Shine are both plagued by pops in the vinyl. This is tragic, especially considering these were not released commercially. Even so, this is the only place to get Cher, so put up with the pops at the beginning of the song and just enjoy the mix. Track times are:

I have tons of CD's containing this type of music. But this CD is the best in my collection. Unlike other DJ's, Junior Vasquez has somehow managed to put together an array of songs, no two sound alike!!!! I have friends who are dance instructors, and this has become a MUST HAVE in their collections as well! I would definately suggest purchasing this double CD set!

This review is from: Junior Vasquez Live Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
for those who enjoy good club music, you will not be disappointed. awesome mix and choice of beats. one problem, junior used a pop song one of the tracks.... shameful, but I was able overlook this one blemish since the rest of the 2cd set is just phenomenal. well worth every dollar i spent on it
