5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!!!
I was so shocked to discover that this book is out of print. It is one of the best books I've ever read, right up there with Donna Jo Napoli's and Philip Pullman's stuff. The plot looks really weird, but once you're into it, you won't be able to put it down, read it, read it, read it!! See if it's in the library--that's probably easier than an out-of-print order. A...

1.0 out of 5 stars not as exciting as i thought!!
I picked up this book from this book sale, and from the sound of it, it seemed pretty exciting. But once I started reading, it didn't sit well with me. ESP and medieval 'time travelling' is great and all that, but it didn't have the emotional aspect of it. The 'link' Juniper and Dylan shared weren't exaclty expressed properly. Overall, it wasn't what I was expecting. You...

A Time Of Darkness (by the same author) is also EXCELLENT. Other out of print books I highly recommend are The Silver Crown and A Pack Of Lies: 12 stories in one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mesmerizing, November 19, 2003

I bought and read this book about eight years ago. I still have it and have read it many times. The mind is a wonderful tool and this book was one of the first pieces I ever read that had anything to do with the ways of the it, and the ignoring of the norms associated with the use of the mind. Spirituality and mind and body energies are essential to many people today. I fell in love with the personality of the characters... I have since reading this book, made a promise to myself to name my first daughter after Juniper. It is a great book for any ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mysteriously magical book., March 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Juniper Game (Hardcover)
This book, The Juniper Game is a great book for anyone who is into mysterious magic and medieval insides. It is an interesting book that at first, will seem confusing and strange, but you will soon fit the "pieces of the puzzle" together. As you read The Juniper Game, you will understand the concept, and you will feel like you are right there with the characters with the extreme details. The story starts with a 'confusing' introduction, and then starts with the present time, in the book. Juniper, a beautiful "out of the ordinary" girl is into medieval history, and objects that include castles, knights, and peasants. She is also into experiments to prove herself points. One of the experiments that she wants to do is a telepathic image exchange with her mother, but her mother is far to busy to do anything with her like that now. So, Juniper is silently searching for an artistic person to do the experiment with. At school, she meets the nerd-like Dylan and finds out that he is quite the artist! She is overjoyed beyond repair. So they start the experiment. At first, it seems like it wont work, but then this look up for it. Juniper is traveling back in time and through telepathic image exchanges, she is having Dylan draw pictures showing evidence of where she's been so that she can keep them for her medieval collection, but as she witnesses a first hand account of a past medieval witch happening, through different day sessions, she sees to much. What she sees happening to the people is scary, and the telepathic images are screwing-up Dylan's thought. After they have perfected the image exchange, Dylan can "feel" everything happening with Juniper, including things that are going wrong. Then, as they progress even more, things at Dylan's home don't go very well, and Juniper's life goes down a bit after a bad car accident with her boyfriend. (She isn't hurt, but the accident helps her to pursue the experiment even more, which is bad.) This is definitely a must have for people who enjoy mysteriously magical, adventurous, and exciting books. To find out what happens to Juniper, Dylan, and everyone around them, read The Juniper Game. It's a great book! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Just a Kid's Book, September 16, 2008

Is it an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat thriller? No. But it is a story of young love and learning to help each other through issues you can't control. If you are looking for a nice break from adult romance with a side order of time travel then this is the book for you.

I'll definitely look for other books by Sherryl Jordan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Imaginative, June 17, 2006
I first read this book in 6th grade and instantly fell in love with it. It was one of the very few books I was not only able to get through, but couldn't put down. I woke up early to read it during breakfast before school, I read it during recess, and then hurried to the library after school to read it in privacy. It isn't the kind of book I can go back to now as a college student and enjoy as much, but at the time I was happy to read it over and over. It really is a very imaginative story with many interesting subjects intertwined. I would especially recommend it to girls in 6th - 9th grade who are interested in history and the fantastic.

On Line Book Review

Book: The Juniper Game Author: Sherryl Jordon # of pages: ?

Juniper is a popular girl who is interested in telekinetic. Dillon is quiet, shy boy and a wonderful artist. They meet in science class when Dillon faints. Soon after they meet Juniper is sending telekinetic images to Dillon while he draws them. But soon it goes too far. There are psychological and emotional effects because of telekinetic that neither of them could have imagined. Who knows what will happen if they go to far? While soon they will! I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone interested in a good book. This is a book mainly for young adults/ teenagers. It is a well written, fantasy that you won't be able to put down. It is one of my personal favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Redemption of Meaning., November 3, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Juniper Game (Hardcover)
This is possibly the best book I've ever read. It starts out with basic stereotypical people : a strong minded, popular girl, and a quiet, artistic boy who is a nobody. But then Sherryl goes on, and shows people are deeper than what they look like and each has his own strengths. The plot is flowing and deep. Each scene is simply discribed, yet tantilizes the imagination.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Juniper Game, January 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Juniper Game was a childhood favorite of mine, one of those rare finds you pull off a dusty bookshelf in the school library even though you've never heard of it. So engrossed I was in the story as a sixth-grader that I wanted to buy it for my niece, who is now in sixth grade, this Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars An old favorite, June 27, 2006
This book is about a girl who partnered with a shy artist, uses thought to convey messages to him to draw what she sees, They end up going through time in a sorts, back to the time when woman were persecuted for being "witches" This book is a great read and i really enjoyed it. I picked it up when i was in middle school from the library (im going into college now) so my memory of it is a bit warped. But the title of the book and what it was mainly about has stuck with me for so long its in with my favorites, and if i ever come across it again i will be sure to pick it up.
