The IC20R 5-Inch Downlight Remodel Housing is an IC rated, energy efficient Air-Loc sealed remodel housing for applications where the back side of the ceiling is not accessible. The housing has a drop socket with spring to accommodate various trim installations and contains a medium base porcelain socket with nickel-plated copper screw shell that accepts an incandescent light bulb. Bulb wattage ratings and apertures are based on trim selection. When used with Air-Loc gasket (ALG5R, sold separately), stops the movement of air, in or out, reducing heating and cooling costs. Installing the IC20R is made easy by securing the factory installed remodel springs that accommodate up to 1-1⁄8-Inch ceiling thickness. Supplied with a pre-wired junction box with (5) 1/2-Inch knockouts with pryout slots, (4) non-metallic sheathed cable connectors, and ground wire. A shadow-free, knife-edge trim design blends smoothly in to the ceiling and allows architectural continuity with Aculux trims (sold separately). UL Listed, C-UL/CSA certified for damp and wet locations and for through-branch wiring, with a maximum of (4) 12-AWG conductors. Wet location listed when using a 210, 211 or 212 trim. The wet listing also includes the 215 and 216 trims when used with PAR30 outdoor rated bulbs. All trims are sold separately and come in a wide variety of styles and finishes to customize to your needs, including the 201, 203, 204, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 529, 688 or 689 trims. Meets Washington State IECC and MEC energy codes as tested per ASTM-E283 and conforms to City of Chicago IP requirements. It can be completely covered with insulation and vertically adjusts to accommodate up to a 1-inch ceiling thickness. The bar hangers may be re-positioned 90 degrees. A thermal protector ensures automatic shutdown if improper bulb wattage is used. Meets Washington State IECC and MEC codes and conforms with City of Chicago IP requirements. UL listed.
