I started with Juno TracMaster line voltage tracks in our living room and soon discovered that the fixtures make a huge difference in the resultant lighting in a room. We were trying to correct a very poor lighting situation, and the tracks gave us more flexibility, but it took a few tries to learn that we needed to choose the fixtures carefully for the situation. The T809 fixtures with cleverly disguised step-down transformers to light 12-volt halogen lamps solved a tricky problem of putting just enough light on our museum-glazed color photographs without harsh glare or over-lighting of the surroundings. We are still looking for a comparable improvement in throwing ambient light on the cathedral ceiling without "hot spots" or dark shadows.
