This DVD seems to have evolved from his earlier work. You rarely find DVD's that contain majority of good moves. This one does not only teach the moves but start to go into principles. The ground portion is interesting as it discusses how to build your own triangular power frame while destroying your opponent's. While the student would do well to not follow all the moves religiously without personal modification, many principles work well in so many situation but one must do his own thinking.

Mr. Kim's communication is clear and simple. Even though English is not his first language, he does a great job getting the point across.

I have trained in the martial arts for 18 years. I have the rank of 4th Dan black belt. This video has more self-defense, and practical information then I learned in all my training. This video does cover some basics like punching and kicking, but it's almost all self-defense. This video is worth buying.

the techniques shown in this dvd are both usefull and easy to learn it starts out with the basic stances punches and kicks then moves on to self defence in a number of situations it is well organised and easy to find what you are looking for also the ground defence is awesome

Once again another user friendly Sang H. Kim product. This time on the science of all aspects of unarmed combat. A must have for any martial artist.

Wow ive got this dvd and i love it it has loads of very effective teqniques and covers more than probably going to 6 months of training at a selfdefense school,I think maybe just a little hard to understand Mr Sang H Kim (Rigini's) english but his movements a showed a few times so the movement is very clear and easy to learn wow awsome love it,and then Rigini does the move fast at street level,i think all martial artist should get this

THIS DVD IS GREAT! IT IS WHAT I THOUGHT HIS SELF DEFENSE ENCYCLOPEDIA WAS GOING TO BE (SEE THAT REVIEW). IT HAS ALL THE DEFENSES AND ESCAPES FOR ALL THE COMMON AND SOMETIMES UNCOMMON LOCKS HOLDS AND ATTACKS YOU MIGHT SEE ON THE STREETS BUT NO WEAPONS. GREAT FOR BEGINNER AS WELL AS ADVANCED. A FEW TOO MANY KICKS TO THE KNEES (IT DOESEN'T WORK) BUT OVERALL IT WAS REALLY GOOD.

In my opinion it's not possible to learn a martial art from a dvd for a person who never practised at all. DVDs are usefull only when you are a medium or an advanced level practioner. In this dvd the moves are very very basic and does not help to improve your technic.
